weird. i am new there. actually my first day was 2 days ago... and when i said hello member "things" said i was banned. but he was joking. but i didn't know he was. so i threw my computer and hit my girlfriend.

It seems to be working now, the pseudo servers crashed again this morning and everyone appeared to be "banned". Those using a desktop IRC client and irc.ecnet.org appeared to be unaffected, but people on mibbit where all banned.

Yes, it's a common issue. The server sometimes decides to stop living and when that happens, it usually results in everyone using Mibbit (the web client) getting dropped or being banned.
If you ever have issues, just use a proper client (such as ChatZilla for Firefox).
