Cheap packing material? Newspaper, shredded paper, styrofoam, gold bars, etc.

for shipping small objects (like a module or dilda-sized laser), I just pay 79 cents for an envelope full of bubble wrap. They're totally awesome, and are a LOT cheaper to ship than flat rate. I can ship an aixiz module anywhere in the US for less than two bucks and the packing material is great.

Packing material is easy to get. Just keep all of the old packaging when you buy stuff and it will never be a problem again.
