New material gives visible light an infinite wavelength

Researchers from the FOM Institute AMOLF and the University of Pennsylvania have fabricated a material which gives visible light a nearly infinite wavelength.
The new metamaterial is made by stacking silver and silicon nitride nanolayers. It may find applications in novel optical components or circuits and the design of more efficient leds. The work will appear on October 13th in Nature Photonics.

Now where the hell were these when I was suffering through math in high school, and especially college with an indian "professor/graduate student" who has impossible to understand? (I really do mean impossible. Thickest freaking accent you can imagine, and the penmanship of an orangutang on crack. I stopped coming to class after 4 weeks, and just came for the test dates.)

I literally just read horror and sci fi novels in the back of class and drew pictures, but aced the final so I passed
