I've seen movie and music threads, but not a book thread. I personally enjoy reading (yeah, I said it), mainly scifi.
My favorite books are:
2001: A Space Odyssey (the whole series)
Blackhawk Down
Andromeda Strain
The Zombie Survival Guide

There are many, many, many more, god I've read soooo many books. Those are the main ones though.

Glad somebody made this thread!

The Old Man and the Sea
Childhoods End
The Illustrated Man
The Legend of Drizzt series

The Old Man and the Sea is probably one of the best book's ever written. I do plan on reading it again in about 30 years, after I have gained a bit of wisdom.

Glad to see someone actually responded. I can't believe I forgot Childhood's End, that book is deep, and amazing. For Whom the Bell Tolls is another classic, I'll keep remembering these as I go along, so bear with me.

Favorite series have to be:
Stephen King's Dark Tower
Foundation by Isaac Asimov
and of course Lord of the Ring's. :D

Best books I've ever read were by James Clavell.
His asian saga was so captivating and so well written that to this day I have not read anything that matches it. Truly a masterpiece.

I have a lot more favorites but those are what come to mind right now.

When I was a preteen the Xanth series was best I've read.

Sad to say I dont do much reading. I try, but never have the patience to get past a chapter or two. I've read zillions of how to books on all kinds of stuff, but other than that I'm a movie buff.

I'm the same way... All the reading I do is how to's, science, chemistry, and astronomy, along with some physics. The only time i read fiction is when I get locked up... Which I haven't been in about a year now

Your quite a bit older from me from what I can tell (about 30 years) so you probably got more out of it then I did. Great book though.

I forgot to mention Red Storm Rising. Great book man. Definitely one of my favorites.

Fahrenheit 451
Something Wicked This Way Comes
Martian Chronicles
Dandelion Wine
The Stories of Ray Bradbury (over 1000 pages of his short stories)

These books are all by Ray Bradbury. He is my favorite author without a doubt. I think I like the last one the most.

I love how Bradbury keeps you hanging with all his stories. They are all just one great mystery.

@Rob I love Clancy's books. Rainbow Six was great but I really enjoyed Debt of Honor.

@jamilm9 I am Legend? Really? I found that book extremely disappointing and anticlimactic. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it but the ending was horrible.

I've forgotten the name of one, it involved a scientist of some sort, he had grown up in Maine, and had come back, and there was an expedition to search for a treasure on an island where his brother had died when they were kids, involved an old sword. It's not a very good description, but it's been awhile.

Any book by Dan Brown, J.K Rowling and include the Pilars of the Earth there too.

For some reasons I love big and heavy books lol
