Too much ones, damn ..... i usually "eat" a book in 2 or 3 days, rarely they last more for me ..... and i like adventure, sci-fi, police stories, scientific books, fantasy, and some other genders .....

If i have to say the ones that i've appreciated more, is simply impossible to say few titles ..... can say, almost all the books from Asimov (sci-fi AND scientific articles), the cycle of E. E. "Doc" Smith, all the "Heechee" cycle, all the 6 "Dune" books, almost all the tales from Tolkien and Stephen King and Terry Brooks ..... and few hundred of other titles :p :D

A note to those who enjoy Stephen King; Dean Koontz is like his plagiarising bastard child. After you've read a few his books get kind of same-y (with the same author-insert protagonist and lots of rants about Koontz' moral and political opinions) but while they last, they're pretty decent. "Velocity", "The Face" and "Life Expectancy" are some of the better ones I've read of his work.

There have been a couple of good mentions there and please don't get me wrong.. we all have our individual tastes..

Books I've read and have on pdf that I can share with anyone willing.

Dragonlance: almost every single book in the doggone series.
Forgotten Realms: almost every book in the doggone series. Especially like the Dark elf stories.
Robert Jordan Wheel of time series although since the original author is dead and can't complete it, I don't know how good the conclusion is going to be when and if it ever gets written.
Terry goodkind - Sword of truth series I found a bit better than the wheel of time.
Zanth series. Terry Brooks. Weirdest books you'll ever read.
Her majesties Wizard Christopher stasheff, hilarious stories..

Also, :twak:, gtfo with the Sword of Truth thing. That series is for mocking, not enjoying!

Some of the later Dragonlance novels are getting strange, the originals are fantastic.:tinfoil:

First of the 3 books for the conclusion is out, not read it yet, but will soon.

Thats Hilarious!!! This book is actually in my house!! My daughters love it LOL.

I recently finish Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol, pretty good, and The Shack by William P. Young.

Oh and Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton (true history about Vikings) was kinda cool.

Before I forget, a short but good read... Jonathan Livingstone Seagull. Richard Bachs I think, (but don't quote me on that).

Agreed with the previous posters in regards to the George R. R. Martin series. It's seriously one of the best ever written. Go pick up "A Game of Thrones" the first book in the series.

Other wonderful books:
The Mistborn trilogy. By Brandon Sanderson.
The Name of the Wind. By Patrick Rothfuss.
I also agree on the Farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb.
Warbreaker and Elantris. Also by Brandon Sanderson. (everything I've read of his so far is top notch. He's also the author they tapped to finish writing "The Wheel Of Time". exceptional, and lesser known author)

As for classics. try "The Call of Cthulhu" by H.P. Lovecraft
