I was talking about the compound explosion seen from the air, like on the video thumbnail, that roadside blast was big, you could see the shockwave compress the moisture in the air, could have been a big IED.

@ Alaskan: Yep, Freedom will bust out and spread every time. :D

@ GSS: That idiot shooting the pistol on the balcony was I believe shooting a blank/starter pistol as it did not sound like much, but it could have scared people and caused an accident, very stupid thing to do.

Sometimes people don't think before they do, like the idiots throwing water balloons from a moving car, it might seem like a joke but people don't know what they have been hit with, they may fear acid, it causes a lot of panic.

I had a big boating spotlight many years ago with a 12v automotive cigarette lighter plug that I was playing with in my car, one night I saw a helicopter hovering overhead and thought for a moment about lighting it up, but I decided it could be a problem, that they might think I was signaling for help or something, people need to think before they do.

Yep, exactly.
I was recently driving past a local hospital at night and got hit with a green laser that lit up the interior of the car.
I didn't react and realised instantly that it was a prankster from the hospital car park but imagine someone that wasn't aware and panicked while driving along.

They have semi auto starter pistols or just use them with blanks? Either way he was idiot:yabbmad: I did see that none of the people on the street took notice but the idiot was pretty high up and the firing noise couldn't have been to loud..

Did you know Russian Cosmonants bring guns into space with them.
Not to shoot Aliens though.........

Seems I recall hearing that some cosmonauts after reentering came down in a remote forest where they were attacked by a pack of wolves. Since then, a gun was always issued to them. Seems like an incredibly stupid thing to include, but they are Russians. I suspect Vodka has made it into space as well.

I know if I was going to be trapped in a claustrophobic capsule in an oxygen rich environment that could, and has in the past, result in myself and other astronauts being burned alive, that there may come a point ( during an intense and deadly fire ) where I would prefer a bullet destroy my brain and it's ability to feel such awful unyielding torturous pain.

I used to recycle junk cars when I had my towing company, we had to cut off the cats which I sold for platinum reclamation and remove the gas tanks to prevent the shredder form explosions/fires, but every so often I would be in line for the scale and BOOM the blowout panel on the shredder would pop out, but otherwise it rumbled away making fist size scrap out of cars that the conveyor dumped into railway open top cars for melting at foundries, the belt was magnetic so all the fluff would separate into a big heap, it was a big 3 story high shredder with a conveyor ramp that the claw operator would load cars onto, I still haven't seen one as big in a video, this one is a hydrostatic shredder, the big one I remember was a hammer mill that ran a lot faster.

A fire in 100% O2 might kill you so fast you wouldn't even know it was happening. I seriously doubt there would be time to blow your brains out. Apparently, 100% O2 at 5 PSI caused asbestos blankets to catch fire and burn one persons hand in a NASA test that went bad on 11/17/62.

You'd likely be better off with a NaNC capsule to chomp down on than a pistol put away in the cabin somewhere for you to try to reach before your flaming skin and lungs got the better of you.

How's a cosmonaut going to fend off a bear with a pill ? Hold it in his extended hand and entice the bear to bite his hand off ?

Sometimes a gun is the right tool.

@ Paul : BTW Justice Kenney has announced his retirement. :D Now if 85 year old Ginsburg would......retire, your pipe dream of a gun free America will not happen in your lifetime.

LOL, Red, you crack me up.....

"If a Cosmonaut falls into a forest, and there's no bear to hear him fall, does he still make a noise?".

:crackup::crackup: everyone:beer:

By the way this Cosmonant gun link I posted just happened to show when I was curious if a pistol would shoot in space. I didn't think it would but I guess the bullet would travel forever and the recoil would start to push the "Space" shooter in opposite motion,
and they say I have a normal IQ:eek::can:

I've seen it defined as what happens inside our heads; nerve impulses. If vibration, that's a no brainer, unless, of course, you are deep into quantum physics then it doesn't actually happen until someone observes that it was likely to happen in the past, or is happening in the present moment.

Donno Chris.
How do you observe a fart?
