Since this forum is far superior to CPF, i decided to pose this question here.

Let me preface by listing the attacks on the wallet, first being the emitter:

4Sevens.Com

Then the host:

DealExtreme: $14.56 TrustFire TR-801 Cree Q5-WC 230-Lumen LED Flashlight (1*18650)

Last but certainly not least the batteries(18650 cells are so sexy!):

IMR16340 / IMR18650 - CPFMarketPlace
(had to go to that stupid forum for discharge graphs :( ) ;)

I'm thinking straight up drop in with direct drive, and in the odd chance that I can't press the emitter into the smaller q5 reflector, its drilling time!

I'm going for about 6-8 minutes run time and of course the most light out of the smallest host possible.

So you guys think I'll be the stupidest kid on the block, or the brightest(i did :D).(I'm referring to the pun of course).

Actually, you should direct drive an SST-90 at ~3000mA, those emitters need about 9A for maximum output. And if you really want a reasonable runtime, then you should use two 18650's. My suggestion would be to get an SST-50, and run it at 5A with 2 18650's. If you want the 90, you could do it, but it would drain the batteries VERY quickly. And if you really want to use direct drive with a single battery, just use a P7, you won't even be pushing that all the way.
