Yeah and they have the police interceptor motor aka super sleeper!!!!!!

The performance capabilities of the police crown vic are more myth than fact IMO.

The biggest problem, is, for all it's power, the car is an ancient behemoth (in terms of design), that weighs too much.

Yes, you will get some remarkable performance out of it, if you know what you're doing, but it's not really a racer car. Many cars will beat it for the quarter mile, and 0-60. Many cars will run circles around it due to it not being very nimble (all that inertia is hard to overcome).

Where the crown vic stands out, is endurance. Most cars will not last as long in being brutally driven.

All that said. It is certainly a sleeper. Should the mood strike me, I can have quite a bit of fun with it. :eg:

Edit: My gas mileage is terrible - 15mpg city, and ~21 highway.

Oh in MA they have a crown vic that has amazing power. Ill have to ask my dad since he approves the purchase for them in town but whatever they have is a true sleeper. I can imagine gas milage sucks but you have to remember the town or state is paying for gas so they dont care about the milage hahahahaha

Power is very subjective though.

I mean my car has 285 horsepower... and not through turbocharging.

Basically the difference between the stock model, and the police model (discontinued btw) is the police model has dual exhaust, much stiffer and beefed up suspension, and some of the components, as well as routing for radiator fluid is different. At the end of the day, mechanically, there is not all that much of a difference between a stock crown vic, and police interceptor.

Don't get me wrong. It's a great car, and I love it... second one I own, and the second one was by choice, not necessity, but I also do not harbor any illusions about it.

To be honest, I think what I enjoy most about it, is the comfort, and the fact that people tend to treat it with a bit more respect, and drive less like idiots around me.

You can look through my threads, there is a rant somewhere about how people drive slowly in the left lane :tinfoil:

Ahhh back in high school id park my truck in snow banks since I could park close to school and simply becase I could do it. Youd drive into the parking lot and just see this 02 ram 2500 sitting 6 feet above the rest of the cars and you could tell where I parked hahahaha

I paid less for my car than many of my lasers. We'll leave it at that :shhh:

Same Here LOL.

I'm surprised my system hasn't vibrated my car to pieces yet. Yep, I'm the guy with the POS car and the crazy nice system in it. Say what you will but it gets me from A to B and keeps me entertained while doing it. Plus my insurance is crazy cheap, and no monthly car payments.

Its a 96 Cavalier, with a 1200W Max 500W RMS Rockford Amp and a single JBL oversized 12". Thing is nasty loud.

IE: I actually also have a police interceptor that needs a little work before its road ready again. Its a retired Cleveland police car. Needs a new coil pack and spark plugs, I'm pretty sure that's whats causing the misfire, but I haven't got around to doing it. And I think it got drove a while with the misfire, I know it ruined one of my O2 sensors, which I already replaced, but I really hope it didn't destroy the CAT.

rockford amps are hard to beat, though if my T2 ever dies I may get an orion hcca sub instead. My amp pushes >1500 watts @1 ohm, I've got my DVC T2 wired down to 1 ohm. I will post pics of my ride, sorry don't mean to turn this into a car audio thread. Do the newer RX7 Mazdas still have rotary engines?
