So who of you has been following the news around Rosetta & Philae today? (This morning for you Americans, this afternoon for Europeans)

ESA managed to put a lander they sent into space 10 years ago on a rubber-ducky-look-alike comet, despite malfunctioning thruster.

Was in the lab myself, but with 3 monitors I had one to spare for the live stream :D I know that many of my fellow students watched the stream too, just like some years ago with the start-up of the LHC. Science live streams are cool!

Anyhow, great achievement for science, looking forward to any cool results!
Also, xkcd 1446 has a nice flipbook story of the landing, is about 130 pictures but really worth your time!

Watched the stream live. Truly a great accomplishment and a milestone. First time a human-made object have landed on a comet! And about time us Europeans got some space action too.

Yes a truly historic moment in the exploration of space, and at a cost of about $1.7 billion I am glad it worked.
