Projector techs?

Hey guys, do we have any projector repair guys on here?

Just took my LCD projector out of storage today, and it seems I have colour convergence issues

I found a free service manual online, and it appears the convergence can only be corrected manually (Bit stupid considering how easily they could have done it in software), however, apparently you have to remove the mainboard from ontop of the optics, using a "service kit".

It appears this "service kit" is basically just 6 cables or so.

So wondering if anyone here does this as a job, and could maybe help me out with what cables I'd need to obtain to fix it? The projector is a PT-AE900E from Panasonic. Apparently the service kit is "TZSH07018".

If not, I'll just rip the thing open myself and determine what cables I'd need to buy, but thought I'd ask first

looks like the PLC convertor is burnt/ dead. Once the projectors get to a certain age, this is one of parts that disintegrates with the high heat and UV produced by the bulb. Unfortunately, it'll cost you more to replace it than to buy a new one, that is unless you can find free parts somewhere.
What kind of projector is it exactly? How old?

Why would the PLC be dead? The projector still works fine, it's just misalignment between the 3 LCD panels.

I just opened up the projector, and found the 3 flex cables I'd need to extend are the actual LCD panel cables

I have no idea how old the projector is... old projectors suffer from a burn in of this module after some time. On the older projectors, when the PLC is burnt, they still display a picture, but the picture colour is off. Sometimes, colour spots or distorted areas are visible as well.... since I had no idea how old your projector is..

Your projector, now that I can see pictures, looks like a modern one. You may very well be correct in suggesting a misalignment of the R,G,B planels.... However... could also be a cabling connection issue as well inside the unit.
Did it get dropped in storage? tell me more about the model number and make of this unit.... thanks, that'd be great.

lol, why, the projector is still perfectly functional, and not bad for it's time either. It's actually HD and I bought it for about $4K 6 years or so ago

I built one of those DIY projectors using an HID car headlight 6500K variety 35W.

That is a cool project!
