I just logged on to my bank of america account and everything it set to 0 and all my transactions are gone  is anyone else's like this? This would really suck if there was a glitch and all my money got dumped....

Bet they send you some fees or something even though your account is non-existent.

Your records are still there. Someone just needs to search the backups to figure out what happened. Now if you didn't have much in there, it might not be worth your trouble. How much is enough is totally subjective here. However, they can find it for you.

Well there was enough in there so I don't starve until the next paycheck >_< I went to the bank, they said they can't find my account....they are doing a merger or something with another bank. I really hope they didn't lose something in the process....

Stupid BoA, I'll never do business with them, ever.  Sorry, but I thought I'd add in my little story... but it really has nothing to do with your situation.

I had a couple credit cards with them, one since 2001 that I used regularly, the other I got in 2006.  Well, the one I got in 2006 was a promotional thing with a store, I bought something, got a $100 credit on my card and 0% APR for 6 months for using the card, and that was it.  Well, I went to make a payment one day, but it was like 6pm (after 5pm cutoff for same day), so it would post next day, which was fine since it was my due date.  Well, turns out that was the day of Ronald Reagan's funeral... an unexpected "bank holiday", apparently.  So, my payment didn't actually post until the day AFTER my due date, which they happily charged me a $40 fee and defaulted my APR from 0% to their like 22% or something.

I called them up and told them the situation, about how I didn't even think about Reagan's funeral interfering and that I had may the payment A DAY BEFORE my actual due date and that it was unfair to hold that against me... and I've dealt with other credit card companies with just making a payment late on same day, and they usually have no problem reversing any charges or effects... well, they told me the "best we could do" is to "split" the fee and couldn't do anything about the APR.  "Split" the fee?  They're getting the money either way, how could they "split" it with me??  And defaulting me over a stupid technicality?  Assholes.  I told them that I would be paying off the card and never using it, my other card that I've had for 6 years or any of their services ever again... they couldn't have cared less.

Add insult to injury, just last month, they sent me a letter saying that the account had been cancelled, supposedly because of some "untimely payment" or some crap they say was listed on my credit report... well, I looked at my credit report and saw nothing of the sort.  So, they basically just cancelled my card for no reason.  I wouldn't have a problem with that except that I'm hoping it won't look bad on my credit for them to have cancelled my account.

So, what this all means is that I would recommend AGAINST using Bank of America, EVER.  Seems like they have terrible business practices and could care less about their customers.

i have never had a problem with B of A and have had them for plenty of time.

you do need to pay your credit card at least a 2 days early though because it does take time to transfer from your checking to your credit line. but you can also have it set to transfer your minimum payment the same time very month so you know you wont miss a payment.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who have had good experiences with them in everyday, normal situations... but how a business acts in these unaccounted for type of situations is where it counts.

And, I know how credit cards work... I've used plenty. My problem is that BoA was just not willing to concede that the situation was unusual and beyond the scope of their policies, and I feel that it should have been handled differently.

But, even with today's technology, there is no reason that a payment cannot be instant... we pay with debit cards all of the time, direct from our bank account, yet our credit card payments "need" to take hours if not days to get there? Some companies can do instant payments, others (like Paypal Credit) need up to 3 days! In reality, they probably prefer the lengthy processing times since it nets them late fees and higher finance charge fees.

And, as for the OP, Maxkillz... do you get paper statements, do you have a record of what was in your account? I hope that they didn't put you out for a lot of money, but that seems totally irresponsible on their part to "lose" your account.

BofA is now a freaking giant company now as well, probably the biggest financial services company in the world now. In the US:

#1 in Wealth Management
#1 in Consumer Deposits
#1 in Branch Network
#1 in Credit Cards
#1 in Brokerage (now)
#1 in Investment Banking (now).

Amazingly big.

I'm just hoping Wachovia keeps itself going and doesn't get bought out/sold/merged through all this current financial mess.

i have actually also had a similar problem where they charged me a late fee and tried to increase my apr but i spoke with one of the representatives managers and she dropped the fee and effect on my account.\

a thing to remember is a lot of people dont have the ability to waive or drop fees completely but the person above them may. and if not the person above them may.

sometimes you just need to keep going up the line til you find the right person.

what would you suggest?? and the amount if your still wondering was $354.20 which is barely enough to pay for 2 weeks of food, gas, drinks, and other misc things plus I need to pay some people back :-/ NO paycheck until next Friday...The monkeys at the bank say theres nothing they can do because they can't see my account, one even locked himself out of his own computer because he didn't know his password while i was there....just goes to show what kind of people are responsible for your money at Bank of America.

I asked before... do you have paper statements that have your account information and previous balance? If so, I'd take that with you and demand the bank manager. I don't know how old you are, but if you're under 25, and if possible, take an older family member or parent, that way you're not just "some kid" coming in to complain.

If the idiots still can't figure it out, is there more than one Bank of America in your area? Go there and try talking to them. Or, you can try calling someone at the "support" line.

I've had monthly account statements sent to me by my bank... I guess your bank may not do that or you may not use it. But, I imagine you could take your check book with you and actually show them you DO have an account... take it all, why not. That's ridiculous that they wouldn't believe that you actually had an account, though.
