Ahh, got it. I forget what the cop looked like, but that was 2 or 3 years ago. The last time I was up there was either this summer or the one before, I can't seem to remember... We went to redfish and went across the lake on a powerboat. The boat died on the way back, and we had about a dozen people in it (this is like a 7 person boat).

Redfish lake is pretty cold, it'll put you nuts up in your checks! Went water sking and tried not to fall.

That area is where I used to go elk hunting, has some rugged areas and alot of old silver mines that are still accesible if you know where to look. one of them up above Stanley still as an old dredge. Lots of stuff to see!

When you went thru Hailey Bruce willis has a bar and a theater where he puts on play with local people. Arnold Schwarzenegger has a big house just as you come into Sun Valley.

Do you go up there very often?

I didn't know bruce had a bar... but we almost ran in to arnold one time. Literally. The guy was biking like an idiot, just blasted across the crosswalk, LOL. And I thought his house was to the north of ketchum... maybe I was looking at the wrong one.

It's funny how many people have been to such a small town.

In Ketchum at one of the bars Whiskey Jaqes they had a band playing and Bruce Willis came in and played his harmonica with the band. He is a real nice guy, up there the people don't bother him for pics and autographs.

My other cousin Kathy lives north of Sun Valley and her next door neighbor is Steve Miller (Steve Miller Band) has a recording studio there also, he's a dick! Carol king has a big ranch up by Stanley, Peter Cetera (Chicago) also has a house and recording studio, Sting is up there a lot also along with Bruce Springsteen.

I could go on, a lot of famous people have houses there. You will see them at the grocery store or up skiing.

Your almost right Arnolds house is a little north.

Whiskey's burned down earlier this year-they rebuilt it right before I left. I didn't get a chance to go inside afterwards. Fun place for sure. And you're right, celebrities were pretty regular up there and there weren't any fanatics so no one bothered them too much.

Keeping it (a bit) on topic-

R700 in .270 win and a marlin 925R.
That R700 punches through steel and lead like butter. ALWAYS wear goggles when shooting that thing at something that will shatter.

Edit:I think the lens still had egg on it, so that's why it's blurry around the edges.

Never seen/heard of a 10 gauge.

Just watched a video of a girl shooting, LOL. The rifle is almost as tall as she is.

I've seen once a 4 gauge, in a fair (EXA) ..... there was an artisan working on one, and a second one finished exposed ..... well, i'm 1,90m, and the gun was almost 20 cm taller than me :p ..... and the bullet was similar to the ones used in the naval rocket launcher pistols "Very", just more fat and almost 20cm long :p :D

But they are used mounted on boats, yes ..... i suppose there's no way for use it on shoulder (not if your name isn't at least "Arnold S.", LOL)

The problem is, Arnold S. is the one trying to ban guns in the first place! I'm fairly sure a 4 gauge is illegal in california...

When I lived in Georgia around 30 years ago, they made carrying openly legal. After a month everyone, and I mean everyone was carrying pistols. Even the waitresses had these little belt buckle sized guns clipped to the aprons. They eventually changed it to you had to conceal.

Ohio has always (since it's beginning) allowed open carry of firearms.
Recently in the last few years they've allowed concealed carry as well.

FYI, "gauge" is the multiplicative-inverse of a lead sphere's size as the fraction of a pound. For example, a solid 12 gauge lead ball weighs 1/12th of a pound. A solid 16 gauge lead ball weighs 1 ounce (1/16th of a pound).

"Wire Gauge" refers to the number of passes through a drawing die. The more times a wire is sent through a drawing die, the more it is drawn/thinned out. That is why higher wire gauge numbers refer to thinner wires. At some point in time, manufactures' proprietary gauges were all standardized to correspond to a defined wire diameter... however the convention of wire and sheetmetal gauges remained.

A 22cal. is less than 1/4" diameter a 22mm round is only 3 mm smaller than 1" diameter.
or you could say a 22cal. is 5.61mm and a 22mm is 869cal.

i need a bit of help,
i have a few S&W .40 hollow point and non hollow point rounds,a few are full metal jacket and some arnot,
when filling these rounds i put the wrong powder grain in them, i need to get the bullet from the shell without damaging them so they can be re-used...is this possible without a bullet puller?
