POLL: What's the general consensus regarding swearing?

So what's your opinion regarding the use of swearing/profanity on LPF?

  • Who the F**K cares? It's the internet, and those easily offended shouldn't be surfing it anyways!

    Votes: 12 19.7%
  • Words can't hurt anyone, so as long as swearing isn't used offensively, it's not a big deal.

    Votes: 29 47.5%
  • Swearing should be kept to an absolute minimum and always properly censored. There are kids here.

    Votes: 20 32.8%
  • I refuse to tolerate any vulgarity or anything remotely suggestive. Censorship doesn't cut it.

Just always noticed that different people have different standards and opinions regarding swearing and the lack (or censorship) of it. So... what's the general consensus regarding swearing, and whether or not it should be present when posting and communicating on the forum?

Here's to hoping this'll make for a nice discussion

Relax, he's doing it - you have to post a thread, before you can add a poll, if I recall correctly. It'll be up in a few minutes.

Where can we vote? Could you add a poll?

That is correct, it took me a while to put together, but it is ready now so feel free to vote.

Also, please note that in Option 2, the word "so" should be replaced with the word "but".

:thanks:

Most epic admin EVER :D

I second this

On second thought, I should've had the poll questions say "what would you consider to be proper censorship level when posting on LPF", with the options:

1) FUCK YOU!

2) Fuck.

3) F*ck.

4) F***.

5) ****.

6) Sex.

7) Fornication.

8) AN ACT STRICTLY FORBIDDEN BY THE LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRRRRISSTTTTTT!! (exceptions being marriage, or if you're catholic and there just so happens to be a young boy around )

*waits for offended parties to voice their disapproval of my post*

I need to disagree with you on that Cold...

There is a difference in the general look of the Forum between

Go Fuck Your Self... you Mother Fucker

and

Go F@#K yourself... you M@#!1#r F&^@&#r....

A little civility makes for a more mature Forum...IMO
I don't mind swearing... but I think it can easily be kept
a bit cleaner....
I don't really think you want to me know as the Admin
of the Potty Mouthed Forum...

Hey Jerry, Go F@#K yourself... you M@#!1#r F&^@&#r!

That does not offend me as much as seeing the actual
words... I have leaned to understand the meaning of
actual words and what you just posted gives me less
of a meaning..
I could just as easily have accustomed the Members here
that every time I post [:eg:] it means Fuck You...

But [:eg:] would be a lot less offensive...

So.....:eg:..... J/K:na:

BTW... what I meant about mature... was just cleaning
up our act...
You have never seen me use direct swear words on the Forum
other that above to show a point..
