Alan was the first member on LPF to welcome me here. Great guy, and shame I didn't get the chance to know him better.
It is wrong to presume, but I can only take it he isn't with us anymore. :can:
I still try to remember to rep him every now and then.

Here's to Alan.

Oh, kind of important person in your LPF life, Oliver. Maybe he will return, let's hope... If not, sorry about that...

I sure do miss Pi and his crazy "Mad Scientist" avatar, I hope he's in a better place!

It would be nice to find out what happened to him, just to have some type of closure, rather than speculating on his health, or possibly, death. :(

I've come to expect that sometimes you just never know. I lost a good friend in Pueblo recently. He had been fighting cancer for over two years, but the last time we talked I could tell he wasn't doing too well. His phone is cut off, so I'm assuming he's dead, but I really have no other way to find out for sure. I've lost a lot of people in the past 10 years.

The older we get, the more people we loose. I just lost a high school and ham radio buddy a few days ago, he also came to Alaska for a couple of years working for AT&T when i worked there too. Stayed in my house for awhile.

My friend in Pueblo I met in 1972. We worked together, went to the university together and shared a house together too. That was 46 years of friendship.

I'm tired of funerals and I am not looking forward the ones ahead, hopefully they will be a very long time away.

The same here. I had to put on my black cravat three times last year. Last time it was just before Christmas. :(

I remember back when I made this account in 2014 when he was still active. Pretty sure I received some rep off of him for my 501b review :). I looked back at his posts/threads the other day actually and it felt strange that he just vanished. I hope he is as happy as everyone should be even if he may be dead as he seemed like a great guy.

My "uncle" died last week. My "granddad" found him on Saturday. He wasn't blood related to me as my "uncle" was just my grandmas partners(who i call granddad) son. Either way, he was close to me and the rest of the family and remembered for his love of cars. This will be the first funeral which I will be attending. :(

Wow Paul, I can’t imagine what you went through, my best friend, we’ve known each other for about 12 years. I couldn’t imagine 46 years :(

That's so sad, was he i'll?:(
Open casket wakes aren't easy and to see a loved one laying there and not knowing where they went and what death is all about is freaky..

Paul, after 46 years of friendship it's hard:(
Let's hope Pi someday gives us a post..
