Now I'm getting truly furious, I shipped the item, I have records that it arrived and I want my $300 NOW. Problem is I can't ask the buyer to give me positive feedback and hurry this up nor am I going to wait 21 days! I don't know why this happened but this is COSTING ME. I was calm day, by day and now... I still don't have my money, I don't know what paypal is doing is but I'm livid. I'm wondering if this has happend to anyone else and what did you do about it? I'm going to call and get very angry which is why I haven't called yet. Must be calm and polite but damn it's been 2 WEEKS, this is ridiculous.

Yep its happened to me before, I had sold 3 items on ebay and all of them were on hold like you said. I managed to coax one of them into posting posotive feedback and I had to wait the 21 days for the other 2.

Then again I wasn't waiting for as much money as that.

I had someone ask me if I could leave feedback in order for them to get funds from an auction... do they do this if you have low feedback or something?? I've never had this problem, but I also signed up in 1999 :p

^So let me see if I've got this straight: On ebay when using paypal you can't access your funds at all unless the buyer leaves positive feedback. So if you sell somebody something and they forget about feedback, die, or go to prison you'll most likely not get any money, but the buyer still gets to keep their item?

Better be there when I check my account... ;)

I'm afraid to ask the buyer for positive feedback because in 10 days I'll get the money. I don't want to risk somehow making the person angry and giving me negative feedback.

He paid 11 days ago I shipped the next day, tracking indicates the item arrived Monday. I called paypal and I was told the item has not been "delivered yet". Extremely annoying. Said the postman might not have left the item at the door but a note to pick it up for whatever reason. I didn't have a signature requirement. Guessing he needs to pick it up from the post office. I may need to send an email explanation what to do. Because it's ebay and some people are just idiots.

I had someone ask me if I could leave feedback in order for them to get funds from an auction... do they do this if you have low feedback or something?? I've never had this problem, but I also signed up in 1999 :p

I think it happens on only on buy now auctions but I could be wrong. I wanted money quick so I let him have it for the $300. I thought, "great now I don't have to wait a week for the auction to finish!" Of course now I get this nonsense instead.

Either that or it may be feedback, mine is only 12 as I just recently started selling but I've sold more expensive items without getting a hold on payment.

No, this was just in my case. Normally when the buyer pays you have access to the money immediately.

That's odd, I've sold stuff BIN and haven't had that restriction... I'm guessing it has something to do with your level of feedback.

Did you ship with Delivery confirmation at least? It's included free if you print the shipping label through Paypal. If so and it says the packaged was "delivered", then it was. But, the problem is that for expensive items, Paypal says you have to have signature confirmation to be eligible for seller protection over $250... so, if the person just says they never got the item, whether they did or not (or it could have been stolen from their mailbox), you're held accountable and they will reverse the payment.

So, I ALWAYS get signature confirmation (or anything that requires signature with other shipping services) if it is even over $100. That way, the person HAS to be there when it is delivered... no one can say it wasn't delivered, stolen, etc.

Also, if you have delivery confirmation you can call paypal's 800 number and they will release the funds (I had a few things "held" so now I use the PP shipping labels through USPS, as soon as the package is confirmed "delivered" they will release your $$, but it takes 2-3 days unless you call them, then they will do it on the spot for you)..

Hope this helped!

Another way of saying they dont want to give you your money. Darn government is so bad now. I went to go get some money off my debt card, and i went to 4 different Atms around my area, and they all were out of order that same exact day, and it was different banks each time.

How does that have anything to do with the government? Paypal is a private company, so are banks. The way they run their business is their own fault; It has nothing to do with the government.

How would you know ? What doesn't the government own ? i mean they can do anything possible. if ur cellphone is turned off, they can even turn the mic on the phone and listen to what your saying. Imagine that !

wesdaman14 wrong thread, this is about my paypal money, not government delusions. If you are worried about the government turning on your phone. Remove the battery cartridge when you aren't using it :p (need a tinfoil hat emoticon)

My feedback is only 12 100% postitive; I only recently started with ebay. The buyer had 24 with 100% positive. Yes, I did ship with delivery confirmation I use paypal to print my labels (easier). I don't think this is the seller's fault as I've received no dispute or any emails about him not getting the item. My recent awful cheating ex taught me how to use ebay in the past few months and I would field my questions to her (1K worth of feedback). Problem is by that sale she had cheated so I wasn't going to ask for advice I just had to make my best choice. I wanted to be "nice" to the constumer and not have them wait all day at home to sign for a package. It was worth $282 not 300 exactly but close enough and I'll still have to wait

Status: Arrival at Unit

Your item arrived at 6:07 AM on May 4, 2009 in STROUDSBURG, PA 18360. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

What does "arrival at unit" mean then? This was days ago and this hasn't changed. What's the hold up? Paypal wants it "delivered", I can't get information, and I can't get through to the post office. I need to ask in person next time I ship.

Now to the larger issue my "stock" is running out. I've racked my brain for ideas to find new items worth anything. My main idea is to go to a real auction, and see what I can find in person. Besides that I'd order from China but I can't sell fake junk. I'd like to list REAL ipods on ebay but I'll bet even with a business that could buy them wholesale there would not be enough of a profit margin. My family has a business that could try and I have the financial backing on the idea. I just doubt apple sells wholesale to any small business, even If I bought 100 units.

I have an acquittance with connections in China she speaks fluent English, Mandarin and wants to make money on ebay. Legally I can't think of a good idea on how we can work together yet. I'm too new to this myself.

As to the money still annoyed. I'm counting down the days left.

"Arrival at unit" means it is at the Post Office and should be delivered soon. So, maybe today, maybe Monday, I don't know?

Still pending, no email from the buyer, no messages from ebay. In 10 days I'll have access to the money. I'm wondering, does he know USPS will ship the item back to me and he will be out $300 if he doesn't pick it up or do something? He got me at lowball price the first time. Because I needed cash fast I allowed a buy it now on something worth more. With my new job I'd never accept a buy it now again.

I guess I should contact him after I get my money and have him pay shipping again to get it sent to him. Really weird.

I've never had a PP payment held... I'd really like to know why they are doing
it to you.. Have you asked them why you're getting "special" treatment...

@Wes... "they're coming to take you away ha ha..."
