Hey, just wanting to show my new project off.
I'm a member of the HIFI forum and after seeing a few turn table mods I thought I'd try to turn this piece of Sh!t into a Picasso.

I'm modding an early 1980's Lotte brand 24-48 RPM turntable for HIFI.

Things to do to it. Get rid of the extremely corroded RCA jacks and replace them with 18Kt Au plated ones. Check

Next thing is to add a 2nd stage preamp and fix the ground. RF ground.

Add a small 120-240V switch mode micro. 12V PSU.

Here are some pics of the first stage.

Any suggestions?

I'm wondering if a switchmode PSU would inject
switching noise into the audio sections..

^^ he's right.

If its HiFi your going for , it must be a regulated & smoothed linear PSU.

That's exactly what I will be using. smoothed linear PSU lowest RF noise possible. ... want it to be 100-240V compatible however.

Want to go dual opamp for the preamp.

Suggestions.
