I don't like that at all. To vague, can be interpreted in the wrong ways. I don't see why their old law didn't work, go to the source, the producers. That is far better than going after the consumers.

This law, if passed, would nullify many other laws, any kind of right to privacy, and set a very dangerous precedent for thought policing.

Well better make sure we get enough from pirate bay or extra torrents, i knew there was a reason i saved everything i ever got hold of i had a gut feeling it would be to good to last ..problem is whats enough if we are being honest as a previous member said porn to men is like air and we need our fresh air plenty of it i read somewhere on the internet that over 60% of total stuff downloaded is porn

Yeah problem would be enough for quite while,:banned: i don't see it happening but nothing would surprize me and a lot of things have the domino effect in other countries

As I previously suspected... this is not at all about porn, but rather flat out censorship.

My guess is, the real world leaders are realizing that the free exchange of information, and unlimited communications represent the greatest threat to them.

Making this an opt in by default... and forcing people to opt out... lovely.

They will probably do it in the US, but won't announce it until after it's already implemented.

Or cloak it under the auspices of copyright protection.

(Copyright is kind of a thorn in my side... I would even pay and extra $10-20 a month to be able to watch all the shows I like, but it's not doable. I have to have a cable subscription which is an additional ~$40-60 a month. So instead of gaining that revenue the companies are actually losing out because people will pirate if it's the only option.)

Any bets on how long until proxies and VPNs become illegal? At present they are already being targeted by banks refusing to process payments:tinfoil:
