Hi everyone!

I currently am without a cell phone charger because mine died.... So i would like to make a new one. My phone charger outputs 5V/1000mA... So i was wondering how i would go about doing it and where to start.

Use a 7805 regulator:

USB.

Cut the end off of your phone cord, then cut the end off of a USB cord.

If your lucky the red wires go together and the black wires go together. If not you need to do some probing with a multimeter.

Use either a powered USB hub or a port directly on the back of the computer. Any other port probably won't be able to provide enough power.

I already knew of this but the problem of it is... The usb ports limit your phone to a 500mA draw which would take way too long for my 3200mah battery...

Yeah, unless you have more wall warts that you can hack up lying around your pretty much out of luck.

Although you could try running two USB plugs in parallel. I have a portable USB hard drive that does the very same thing.
