I thought about buying a PS3, but then I realized that there are no good games for it.

Developing a simple game for Xbox 360: $100 to get started.
Developing a simple game for PSN (PlayStation Network): $10,000 to get started.

Unquestionably the PS3 is the more powerful unit with the better looking games, but for my game development it's Xbox 360 all the way :D

(Developing a simple game for the Wii: $2000 to get started, btw).

I like the Xbox360, which I have, but I don't have a PS3 to compare to either. It does annoy me that I've had to have it repaired 3 times, though. I also like that the PS3's hard drive can be easily (and cheaply) upgraded, compared to the Xbox360, but overall, I like my Xbox.

protip, dealextreme sells a cable for about 4 bucks that lets you plug a full size sata into your ps3, but it has to sit outside of it. i'm sure you can build an enclosure that will work. 1tb media hub for the win

if only i could afford the hdd now... but i tested the cable i bought with my ps3 and its stock hdd and it works outside of it.

i'm just a ps3 fan, i love the console, i love the games, i love the graphics, and i bought one launch day and its never died. i feel bad for the friends that got xbawkses and are on their third one cause they die.
i also love the ps3 controller, its really comfortable (hell i thought the ps1's controller was nice compared to the snes and n64 and wished nintendo copied sony)
i wish i could get wired internet in my room to play my ps3 on... theres so much crap to get online.
not to mention playstation home, they should have toned it down, they didn't need to make the mii's and the xbox copy of mii's look like they -were- insulting the users.

when both consoles were new, a friend noticed the xbox internally ejected the disc when bumped while reading causing it to scratch it. he violently shook his ps3 when it was reading and nothing happened

maybe i'm a little biased on it, but oh well :D

I need a 15metre VGA to VGA cable so I don't need to take my pc downstairs to use it with my 46" Full HD TV :(

all you need is 200 meters of wire, a knife, soldering iron, and a few rolls of electrical tape

Honestly, Wii is much more "fun" than either of them... in terms of amount of games available, Xbox has the upper hand... In terms of having better hardware for future games, as well as free online play, PS3 has the upper hand.. In terms of having games that are actually fun, Wii is the clear winner here.

If you want high res graphics and free online play for modern FPS games though I'd recommend you buy a better video card for your PC.

YES, EXACTLY!!

Sad thing they don't ship to Argentina :(

The "cheapest" 15m. VGA M/M cable here (Argentina) is about $127.00
