Personally I'm always in favor of another seller on the forum. More variety is great.

One crucial note I want to convey to you, because it can make or break you.

Communicate. If a message is sent, it MUST be replied to within 24 hours on weekdays, and next business day if it's the weekend.

Most people are willing to cut a lot of slack if you tell them what's going on, and run into a problem. If you just disappear for a week, that will no go over well, even if all you're doing is taking a vacation.

Make sure people can contact you on and off the forum too....

Lastly... one thing in a kit form that I haven't seen, and think would be great... an unlimited run time laser. Seeing as you plan to use a custom heatsink, that you are making personally, and aren't going after the high mark 2W+ lasers... this would be a good niche.

Good luck, and hope to see you do well.

Heatsinks ;)

I already have a V2 heatsink design started. That combines the heatsink and focus adapter to look really cool!

Joe - IE's last statement along with the good advice in this thread can be applied to any builder starting out. And your obviously familiar with navigating thru politically charged waters, sharks, and human nature. Now the hard part! If the concept is unique and workmanship is unquestionable then anyone giving you a hard time can ------- and -----------!

Dig? Good Luck

I was about to ask the question, what is going to set you apart from other sellers?

Because you are a machinist, you will be able to make stuff like your nice heatsinks below!

If you start selling kits and gear on here, dont be like what ryanelctro tried to do, capitalize on survival lasers parts and just resell what we already have access to, i and other members do not like seeing that.

I think if you introduce new and exciting heatsink & focus adapters designs you will be onto a winner!

Just a little bump with a teaser.

Hey Joe,

Those are some very neat looking heatsinks, build's sounds good. I am very fond of the 18650 setup and its capacity after I used them for my high powered builds. Runtimes are amazing.

Anyway, Fiddy, it's not that I am capitalizing on you guys, but I'm just re-inventing and making better, the mainstream designs. This is how I climb the ladder my way hmph. I have some of my own designs coming out soon but it takes time. I'm coming along pretty well though.. I hope. I'm getting there ;)

Well I'm looking forward to see the completion man

Just an update to everybody involved, if you haven't seen I'm selling the first two prototypes here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-policelaser-445-prototype-v1-v2-75763.html

Parts for my custom driver are on the way, (thanks Foulmist) and I think I have revolutionized the way we use drivers too. The driver isn't small (20mm round), but it has amazing heatsinking, and is easy to set up!

Lastly, I figured making tons of heatsinks by hand would take way, way to long, so I outsourced, and just bought 100. They are being made right now. Here is a couple pics. My v2 model, and I'm already planning V3, where the Heatsink, and focus adapter, will be made into one flush part, that looks amazing!
