light a candle

Has anyone successfully lit a candle with a laser? I was trying with my 6x w/ 405nm coated glass lens. it burned the crap out of the wick and it was glowing very brightly red hot... never lit though. the wick turned white afterwards....

just curious if anyone has done this.

I've tried before with my herc and X10DR to focus the beam and all it did was 'cut' through the wick and make a lot of smoke.

Can't do it with my 100mW PHR. I can make the wax coating on the wick boil, but...

Coming to think of it, this is one of my few burning failures with my blu-ray. The other notable one was burning through a CD- I could only get partway through.
