I guess I'm a little out of touch of the small nonprofit organizations since living up here, heh. There's no shelters or food pantries or youth clubcs, etc locally. I volunteer at the tricounty EOC (emergency op center) and at various community events, especially when the Ham clubs are involved. Up here there are no homeless, it's us lower class and lower middle class that could use help.

Well, therein lies the benefit to living out in the middle of no where like I do (20 miles from town). No one comes by, no solicitors, no neighbors, no threat of robbery - hell, most people don't have locks on their homes and don't lock their cars, and most of my family is rich (they live >900mi away), I'm in the "poor" branch. I do understand what you're saying though and it would work that way for most folks, I'm just in a bit more unique situation. I grew up poor in a rich family, didn't qualify for financial aid and family refused to contribute, so I got in to debt to put myself through school to work dead end jobs in a dieing industry. I make <20k/yr. Right now I'm wanting to go back to school for a better trade more than anything else, but still paying off my old loans. If I had stated a mid level lottery winning scenario (in between toys and set for life) I would have included going back to school.

Winning the lottery would solve 99% of all my issues without presenting any real downside other than the initial chance of heart attack (from shock). I don't play only because I can't justify throwing money at an endless pit in the hopes of a pipe dream when saving it would directly benefit me more.

I'd share my winnings with the people in my life who I know have worked hard & deserve more than what they have now, at least bring them to a comfortable way of living for awhile to give them a taste of what secure financial comfort is like. Then I'd put a decent amount into savings to secure my questionable future. Then I'd go buck wild with exotic, shiney lasers - though that'd probably be second or third on my list of priorities. A massive bender also goes without saying, I'd even try having it at TJs planitarium (re: 19 yr old waitresses, HE room in back) & turning it into the worlds first lasertarium :D

I know two people that have won the lotto, one of them 33 mil and the other 47 mil. They are both still really nice and have not let the money change them. They gave me a little advice that if you ever do win the lottery get a tax attorney before you claim it.

If I won I would pay off all of my bills and move. Then I would give the kids some money and find some people that are homeless and help them out, charities are not always a good choice. I would donate to St. Judes and the Shriners hospitals for the great work that they do for kids.

I grew up poor in a poor family, LOL. Its a sad life when money will solve 99% of your problems. I've learned to live on so little money, so many times in my life, I would never let it be the main cause of problems in my life. I live off $700 a month right now, and cant really complain. I'm over 10K in debt, but whatever. I still have fun, laugh, have good times, and I have endless of stuff to do, friends to see, and places to go. I've even starved, and squatted a few times, and still had a blast.

I feel the same way, TJ. I don't let it (money) get me down, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't solve 99% of everything going on, lol.

I was so poor once I used to go to the super markets around closing, and buy their old fried chicken for .10 a piece. Then I'd hit 7Eleven at 2AM and get the days hot dogs that they were going to toss. I'd get a cup, and fill it full of the the crappy chili and cheese sauces, and mix it with the hot dogs. Before I went to bed, I'd down a quart of water just to shut my stomach up so I could get to sleep. But I had fun, and met new people. Eventually I pulled myself back up, and started over. I've started over from zero at least 6 times in my life.

I also lived the good life, bring major cash in, ect, ect.

Its all the fun of life.

It's none of my business... so don't feel you need to answer my question, but would you say that the main cause of your repeated situation was substance abuse?

I'm just curious...

Also, congrats on pulling yourself up... it's not always an easy task.

Not at all. I was living in St. Petersburg Florida. Sunshine, ocean, pretty girls, never got cold. I could have moved back home at anytime. I just didnt want to leave, and worked my hardest to stay as long as possible. I'm insanely diligent. Once I'm on a path nothing short of grave illness with make me give up. I'm like that with everything. I pursued the girl I;m with now for over a year before she gave in. That was 13 years ago. If you want something bad enough, you'll fight tooth an nail to get it.

St. Pete...heh...

I assume you've been to what used to be the Aphitheatre in Ybor City then... on 7th Ave.

First place I ever saw someone with a high powered green handheld.

Haha... remember Lamont (the human volcano)? :D

I'd buy the biggest, baddest KVANT projector available (30W RGB I think?)

No, I remember Mons Venus, an 2001 Space Odyssey in Tamp, LOL. I lived in the south end, off exit 54 before the Skyway bridge IIRC. The last time I was there was 22 years ago. My friend still lives down there, and wants me to come down. But I'm afraid I wont come back. I've been trying to get my GF to move down south, but she doesnt want to leave her family.

For that I agree.... Maybe I was a little harsh but
the military will be harsher...

He will not make the cut if he thinks the US military
will coddle him...:cryyy:

If I won the lottery, I would stop by a handful of member's homes to say, "Hi!"

However, most of you would never hear from me again (and you wouldn't even know why ;) )

Peace,
dave

If I won the lottery, I would be too busy with other things in life to even bother with lasers.
