Here's the link to the brush fire my old man started, it doesn't say much except that 350 acres burned and the cause was still under investigation. A large tree was caught in the grinder and burst into flames, there's usually some smoke and dust when your mulching up giant pine trees so by the time the guy running it realized there was a fire it was too late. We moved the loaders and the trucks by a lake and filled our loaders buckets with water and started soaking the immediate area until the fire department and the division of forestry made us leave. The fire was huge and spread to the mulch and piles of dead trees before we knew it 350 acres was ablaze.

Oh my god dude, glad you are ok. But, that must have been one expensive ass day for the state XD. 5 departments were dispatched ()_()

I'm not a fan of fire. Not too many here in Chicago (besides the one that literally destroyed your city way back lol) but where I'm from we get bad dry spells sometimes and the cops will lock you up for tossing a lit cigarette no questions asked.

Edit: BTW I'm talking about brush fires, I'm sure there's a crackhouse on fire in the hood somewhere as I type.

What are most houses made from there? Looks like some kind of wood outer panels?

House fires aren't all that common here, but due to cyclone ratings on all modern houses, most of them are built from bricks with tin roofs, so if a fire did break out, it'd be unlikely to see the house engulfed as far as those pics.

wood frame with plywood floor and exterior and vinyl siding. Basically a bonfire waiting for ignition. They burn scary fast!

Depends on where you go and how old the structure is. Newer houses have exterior walls made of cinderblock and cement with iron rods for added support. Houses in Florida have to withstand hurricanes with minimal loss, houses in the Midwest are built with tornadoes and snowstorms in mind, so on and so forth. Age and location, older structures burn quicker. Also, not too proud of this, but I grew up in a trailer park and those things burn fast. In fact, chances are your not going to escape a trailer fire if your not awake to catch it. I've known a few who didn't make it out of a trailer fire. It literally takes about 5 - 10 minutes for a fire to completely destroy a single wide.
