Happy New Years Everyone!! Any creative resolutions?! Mine is to tryyy to stop spending so much on lasers, (HAH!!) be happier, and to be more assertive in order to get used and walked on less.

I know I have said this before but I will say it again, I am not optimistic about what the next year will bring. As I sit here and watch news from several different countries and listen to radio off and on all day, I see pieces of a puzzle slowly being put together before my eyes, and I don't like the picture that is starting to show. There are people and multinational corporations who have no allegiance to any one country who are planning YOUR FUTURE. So we must now be more vigilant than ever. Some will say that I am paranoid, or I am imagining things, or that I listen to too much talk radio. I am certain that I am not.

There are 3 kinds of people in this world:
Those who make things happen.
Those who watch thing happen.
Those who ask what happened?
Please don't be one of those who will ask: What happened?

So go and vote in elections, become active in politics or support the political party or candidates you favor. Become more active in your community or your school or your church or where ever, pick an issue you have a strong opinion about and make sure people hear what you have to say and make it count.

One of the founding fathers of the United States once said "We must all hang together or we will surely hang separately." And one of our former presidents once said "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what can you do for your country?" Good words that mean more today than when they were spoken so many years ago.

I am not just speaking to those in the United States, I am saying this to all of you in all 40+ countries that are represented here at LPF. So please try as best you can to do your part to make the next year a better one for all of us. Try also to oppose war and try to help those who need help as best you can.

My resolution would be to keep trying to be nice to people, make change happen and get a little more control over my OCD and mood swings, which at times can be quite depressing

Hap: Eh, OCD, depression, they are old friends of mine... Have a beer with them and then try to let the thoughts pass through you, just because you are feeling them or thinking such things doesn't mean you have to let them change your behavior. I know, things aren't so simple, but how you handle them can make things far simpler!

Pi: I agree, these companies and individuals with huge amounts of money don't care about us, they view themselves as above most of humanity and will fund wars against opposing sides, sit back, and watch the fire works with joy. I'm starting to think these entities are more of a threat to mankind than nationalism could ever be. Perhaps someday, we will find ways to keep any organization or individual from amassing so much wealth they can play games with humanity. I too see huge changes coming in the next two to three years, the world will probably face monstrous situations due to orchestrated economic failures or even war in the world. The sick thing about it is, when this happens, most people will welcome the control they seek to have over us and the change they want to bring as a way to survive, those of us who do.

I am very worried about our future, but I hope for and wish you all Longevity, Prosperity and Happiness, and I hope that we will all put our differences aside and stand together for Freedom so that each new year every generation can know the prosperity and the happiness that only Freedom can empower. May we always stand as one and pass along the greatest gift humankind has ever known so that every New Year can be a Happy and Hopeful New Year forever on and for everyone.

And on that new year's resolution gym thingy, I make sure to go once a year to the gym - and that's to renew

Some say there is a human characteristic that we are at our best when things are at their worst, I believe this can be true and that ordinary people in troubled times can rise to be the leaders we need to get through a tough time. All hope is not lost, but we do need to hang together or hang separately.

Happy New Years to everyone also. I have no great words of wisdom but I dont set resolutions on this day when the time comes for change it will come when the day you wake up and are ready. Hap (Alex) listen to people here. Just keep what your doing, your young have a car, have a job, a mom and dad though seperated that love you. and your kind. I like the gift of giving and see and have experienced it here in the short time ive been a member.A card or email can make anyones day no matter how cheap. Yes people do sometimes walk on the nice guys but they dont finish last on if you let them. This might be corny but its ment......Alaskan it is amazing how people can rise to the challenge when needed
