This thread really went off on a tangent! I don't personally see the pride connection that much, though I can see how other people would.

Looks good, but not my style... although, I have a definite lack of style so maybe that's why!

I've had many friends who are gay. The keyboard player in my last band was gay and we were all having to stand up for him in 1977 Texas. He was very talented, but still quite young at that time (20 years old). I don't know that many who are openly gay now, but if they are in trouble, it has always been my policy to take up their part as I have seen people who would cause them injury if given the chance. That said, I am just not into style oriented clothes, so I lust get along with what fits and wears well.

I guess I got everyone looking at or googling up gay characters. Look up Rupaul, Jim Parsen, Nathan Lane,Harvey Fierstiene, Dame Edna to name a few.
Anyone here sneak and watch the cable channel Logo or Brovo when no one else is around? Lol

One of my bar friends here is a massive Rupaul fan. Phone background is Rupaul, all he talks about is Rupaul really. :crackup: Good guy, always a fun time.

If LOGO is showing married with children reruns " that I have seen many times but still enjoy " or something I want to watch then I watch it, I also sometimes watch something different just to see what it's all about, there are some real gems hidden that people sometimes can't find because they prejudge a source, I don't as I am curious about many things and watch what I want as long as I am learning or enjoying it.

People with a message do better to wrap it in something creative and entertaining, I think viewers feel better about learning when they're entertained in the process and left with something to think about that they enjoyed, I have seen some human interest stories that make a person think and give insight into why some feel the way they do, everyone is different yet many share things in common across socio economic barriers, I enjoy learning all kinds of things, especially things I never knew much about.

However I don't buy the BS if that's what I see something is, our news media is loosing a lot of credibility trying to tell us what to think, I hate that, just give me the real unbiased facts and I will decide what I think, but if they keep stretching and manufacturing so called facts then when the sky is falling nobody is going to believe it.

A problem I do see is when a group of persons have been denied and cheated out of their basic rights, the right to life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness and they fight to win their deserved rights that things can go too far too fast as change takes time and people are understandably defensive when they have been cheated for so long, so newfound rights that are proper and justified can take on the illusion of privilege when anything a person in that group says or does is challenged and the defense is hate speech or " ism " of some kind. That builds animosity and works against the proper change, I think if we all treat others as we expect to be treated and try not to jump to conclusions especially when people can easily be uncomfortable then things will work out for the best in time, there is a time to stand up and take what is justified and then there is the giving of understanding and tolerance as people adjust and learn to understand, but no persons freedom of speech should be diminished even when it causes unpleasant feelings, we all have to learn or remain ignorant, and ignorance should not be hated but pitied and met with tolerance, then the ignorant will have nothing to be mad about.

Hi Truss,
There are a few folks i know who are gay and thats no biggie to me. The people i work with are really homophobic , when they say something obnoxious i tell them to grow up . I just want to congratulate you for coming out, it took a lot of balls ,no pun here... There a saying my wife told me , theres a lid for every pot . Enjoy your life buddy its your to keep.
