Re: Laser pointer leather shirt

Looks like a nice leather jacket, trussmonkey. I had a swede suit jacket many years ago. It was top quality and looked great as either a dress or everyday jacket. I never got into patent leather or any of the other types available. Too old now to pull it off.
With the wiiiiiiiide tie?

Not that old, Peter. More like early 90s. I never got into the wide ties back in the 70s. It seemed too disco for my taste.

Now you might like an oil rubbed look or weathered look. Thon one I showed is more my tast and should appeal to star wars fans. I have many other colors and textures available

Re: Laser pointer leather shirt

Sorry Trussmonkey. Nice design, but I can't help thinking of LGBT with that rainbow and leather. Don't want to offend, but I need to be honest. :)

I think this is valid, most people would associate it with gay pride or something similar.

Personally i don't have any problem with the design or homo***uality and such, but i fear wearing it in public could get your harassed in numerous places.

Re: Laser pointer leather shirt

Guess you arn't the market. Ill take them to where people are more comfort in their own skin. On the same token should someone harass me or my partner they will live to regret it. I have the courage to stand my ground and protect my righits. I have the stones to walk down Central Avenue and wear these colors. I was hoping LPF would understand diversity since we have members all over the world.

Re: Laser pointer leather shirt

It's nothing to do with us not accepting diversity. It's due to a narrow part culture. If I walked down the road of where I live, I would get a lot of attention from my local gangs as all they would think is gay pride. My culture as a whole is very accepting of LGBT with having safeguarding in most establishments, and I myself have no problem with them. Ask people from multiple cultures what symbol they think you are representing. As a designer, I have to be careful when including certain symbols/badges as it may offend or mean something else in different cultures. In this case, your design has been taken for the more popular symbol for gay pride/LGBT. No one here is trying to offend you or any group of individuals.

Truss monkey it's nothing to do with comfort or accepting who you are but minimising risk. I couldn't give a toss what people think of me (or anyone else) but if there is a risk to life one has to let common sense take over and not paint a target on your back. If I wore an emblem like that to my local snooker club I'd probably leave in an ambulance if I was lucky - heck - last time I was there I wore a simple hat and got a funny look off the guy next to me.

We aren't saying this to cause bother it's actually a function of a caring personality... whether you like it or not a lot of people have an axe to grind. It's not about standing up for your rights or courage either when the fight over these things is never fair.

Thanks, like I said these are customized..you can choose what you want on them. Just a picture of one got a lot of attention. Choose your own logo. Mine was meant for an event taking place next week.

Re: Laser pointer leather shirt

Honestly leather or anything like it just isn't my style, but it's still pretty cool. :D

Don't really care about the pride association, and I honestly think most people are a bit too paranoid about it unless they hang around the wrong crowd. Granted, I do live in a fairly liberal area where we're a bit less concerned about it.

I actually think it would be pretty cool if you actually put the wavelengths where the white is. Hopefully someone hasn't already said that.

These are made custom order so I can put or embroider what you like. This one is all patchwork on the back. The handles could be gold or silver with with wave length. You could rearrange the colors so they aren't in rainbow order.

Not to get too far off track with your thread truss, but since it seems to have gone here already, has anyone seen todays google page picture/video, it's honoring Gilbert Baker, the creator of the pride flag. :)
