Lol I tried to be clever and look up the "Kaiser 6061-T6511" whatchamadoodle and it is just Aluminum Flat Bar. I guess we americans make such a small amount of stuff that we have to brand our damn aluminum. I am dissapoint.

Yeah looks like a massive variable resistor. it has the sliding thing on the top... looks like a bigger version of what we have at school
