I just got the Spiderfire R8 Cree XRE-R2 from hkequpiment

Cost $49.00 + $4.00 (shipping) = $53.99

Shipping took 11 days to Socal.

Uses Cree XRE-E R2.

Type III Hard Anodize. Has flaws in my finish. I give the grade B.

Fit is good give the grade B. My light came with a twisted o-ring which broke off. No extra o-rings included. The head and Stainless Steel Bezel is glued on.

Uses a 32mm OP Reflector.

Glass lens.

Voltage range, 2.75-10V.

Uses 2 RCR123's or 18650 sized battery.

Run time from the hkequipment description. I don't know if CR123's or RCR123's were used to measure the run time.

High output : 1.5hrs (100% Output)

Low ouput : 2.0 hrs (70% Output)

Reverse rear clickie. Goes from high, low then off. No memory, does not remember last setting. Cannot press half way to get to next level.

Ultrafire holster included.

The Bad.

I wish the light had come with extra o-rings.

Does not remember the last level of light when turn off.

Flaws in the the Type III Hard Anodize.

Glued head and Bezel.

The Good.

Nice white beam.

Stainless Steel Bezel has no rough edges.

Can use Rechargeable Lithiums, RCR123's and 18650.

Back of the Cree R2 Module uses a spring for contact with the +ve anode of the battery. Sorry for the dark picture the head is glued on.

I also took lux readings of the lights shown above. These are the lux readings I got. I am using a Meterman LM631 Light Meter measured at 1 meter. I waited 2 minutes before taking the readings. I am using AW's Protected Blue 18650 and AW's AW's Protected (Black) RCR123's which were fully charged.

Bumpity bump. I got my one from DX, and I'm really happy with it. The anodisation is almost flawless, it fits together nicely and it's tons o' fun pointing out distant trees at night time. =D Really pleased with it.

Then again, I don't have much of a taste for quality - I've never held in my hands a Fenix, NiteCore, SureFire, etc. But this thing is really nice. The usable spill is great too. Only qualm I have is that low isn't low, it's medium-high! It's got to be something like 90%.
