Could you find a way to increase pressure after lighting the fuel? It shouldn't be that hard to do. I'll have to watch the video after work. YT is blocked here.

Very professional and highly accurate gadget. With similar objects (quite dangerous) need to be very rigorous in the fabrication, and Patrick certainly is :gj:

Increasing pressure when its burning?? Accelerating a gas is very difficult. Could use a smaller nozzle and increase speed and pressure. But then its harder to ignite it.

You have to bend your hand back...same thing with the laser glove. Makes it lot safer.

I have done a few flamethrower builds, gloves are a bit iffy as to the fact that on most flamethrowers you have to have a constant flame burning as the igniter and it can get dangerous being physically attached to you incase something goes wrong. I have some designs that use a co2 tank for paintballing connected to a pvc tank to keep constant pressure through a gas regulator on the tank filled with my propellent mix (If you are interested in that PM me) and that keeps the flow running nicely and you can also increase the pressure for more distance or less for a much safer operation.

Those things are toys, here is a real fire farter, I made this about 20 years ago when I was doing stage pyro.

I cringe everytime i see kids putting gas in a supersoaker. They fail to realize the tank
is pressurized with the same air sustaining the open flame. Pressurized gas with air in a
closed container in the presence of a open flame! Common sense sure seems hard to find.....

Dont tell me you compare my beauty to those things. The second one is cool because of its range. But I guess its still LOT easier to make.
FPyro: I COULD make a REAL flamethrower as well. But the goal was: Perfect mix, range/size.
Dont get the post containing the CO2 tank. CO2 and open flames? Oo wont work. Or did I get that wrong.

Co2 is used as a way to keep constant pressure on the tank on your back so it can last longer. The flame gets its air mixture in the nozzle for creating the flame... oh and yes building a super soaker flame thrower is very dangerous. The plastic that is used to make the bulbs degrades and will eventually explode if you don't use the right propellent. But even then its still dangerous IMO.

Negative that would never work to have co2 mixing with the propellent at first I had a compressor constantly hooked up to the tank to regulate pressure inside the backpack tank. But when I went mobile on I hooked up the canister WITH A REGULATOR on it the pressure feeds from the top creating a pushing force on the liquid propellent that feeds the to the nozzle. This way I had constanst pressure and could go much longer on a firing then having to pump it after shooting it for a few seconds before shooting it again. Ill try to swing by my parents house and show you some sweet pics of it!!

I will try to grab a pic if I can find its been atleast 5 years since I built the thing. btw I just noticed in your pic you said butane, I did not use butane I used a gasoline/nitrous mixture as my propellent but indeed this would def not work if you were to use butane as your propellent!
