You just need a very strong neo magnet on one side and it comes apart. Done it a few times (at home - not at the store )

I think that magnet is big enough Did you try it on both sides?

Once it is near the magnet, push both sides together then you pull them apart. If it doesn't work, try the same with the magnet on the other side.
