Hey guys! First off, I miss this place so much, and I'm happy to be back from moving in with the girlfriend, spenbding time and getting to know her, yada yada yada.

Sooo, last Friday I ordered a video projector, to watch movies of course ;). I almost bought it from Amazon for 70 more dollars and gotten it in two days, but I was greedy and saw the same one on Ebay from a seller, new-sealed, whom had a fairly good feedback rating, 99.6%, for 70ish dollars less. So I pulled the trigger. I forgot to change my Paypal address to my new apartment from my mothers, so I messaged the seller asking to simply change the address to my new one, Niko (as he calls himself), messaged me back, a day and a half later, and said he couldn't do that, and to either get it from that address, or have them deny it and he will get it back and resend it to me. The old address is my mothers so I told him it was fine, just send it. So, finally on Monday I got a tracking number, and followed as we all do, and today it arrived! BUT, I got something else instead. THIS:

So, I immediately messaged him again, asking why he never contacted me to tell me this had happened, or to ask me what I wanted to do i.e. cancel or continue with purchase, and asked him where the supposed tracking number is he said he was going to get me, and of course, 5 hours later, still nothing. I feel like this is a stall tactic, and he raised the price on the projector as well, so it could be he hopes I cancel so he can sell it for more money?

THIS in the exact projector I ordered, just for less money.

If anyone has any tips, pointers, or comments on how you would proceed, PLEASE post! Thank you guys for your time, have a good day, and I'm happy to be back in the saddle again! Take care!

Yea that looks pretty pathetic to me, and also really shady. There's a reason why he printed that out, took a trip to the post office and payed for shipping on that instead of spending 5 minutes and instantly sending you a message. I'd leave neutral and maybe even negative feedback once you've got the item in hand or a refund if you choose to go that way instead.

That's really bad cs. Scammer all the way around. He sent it to you via snail mail rather than email because he knew you would see the tracking and think it's coming.

Contact ebay and file a claim, contact ebay and paypal and let them know to stop/retract payment. Let them know what the seller did and that you want your money back as you were sent a sheet of paper in place of a unit.
E-Bay needs to pull his add.

If he sends you another tracking number you will get another sheet of paper, it's 99.99% a scam.

p.s Don't you come out better with the vee ten unit? 10x vs 7x ?
BTW the part you sent me is still running strong. :gj:

Sounds like he's just trying to get you to cancel, so he can sell it for more. Leave him neg feedback.

Wishful thinking Raz, why send a package with a letter rather than an email, it is a stall for time to steal from PP, if not the other is already on the way, but it's not, he would not open the sealed box he advertised it was sealed right??? No he would not open it to check it at the last minute, it's BS, sorry it's a scam, get your money back. Also you get a better deal on a 10 block unit.

Contact EBay and PP right away. He likely has multiple accounts, is it that factory refurbished guy??? I decided against that myself, smelled wrong, why would he short his pocket if it's in a sealed box.....it's BS

Get your money back.

Was the letter in a package ??
If so...was the tracking number he supplied on that package ??
If so... Contact eBay and PayPal to open a dispute and state
that you have been scammed by an eBay and PayPal member.

Explain that ONLY the letter was in the Tracked Package and
the item you purchased was not there.

Check the weight written on the tracked package you received
and note it. Do not destroy any packaging.
The weight on the package will prove that there was no
projector in the Tracked Package. Been there... Done that.

You should perhaps let the members here know the eBay
seller's user name so we can avoid him...

Hey Jerry! I took your advice and opened a dispute with him stating the package was only 0 lbs 2 oz, never messaged me about this, has 4 more for sale just like it for more money, and never replied to my message concerning the letter. About 5 hours later he gave me a full refund, no questions asked. I'm thankful but still not impressed, this is why Amazon does so good, less shifty bastards!

new-sealed on eBay

This is him, don't buy them this scammer!

Hey, you got your money back, cool.
As I understand it the 2700 has 7, the 3000's have 8 and the 3300's have the 10 block, i.e. the 110w and 10x as well as the 3 letter unit.

If you have a look at the other Negative Feedbacks he
received you will see a trend in sending packages with
only letters in them...

Also Notice that he has ZERO items for sale at this time.
Perhaps eBay shut his selling down by removing his items.

Yeah............... Pure Scammer.
