DIY Laser Jammer

NOTE: This is for educational purposes only.

Most of the U.S. does not regulate the use of laser jammers, correct? I do believe however that Minnesota does ban the usage of them?

Is it a Federal Offense? I believe so.

How would "they" come up w/ evidence to support such an inference? ...I could think of plenty of ways on how to detonate such a small device within a few seconds.

What does the Law Enforcement primarily use in the U.S. to detect speed? Radar guns VS lasers? Does it varry between "in town" & "out of town?" Does it varry between Scherriffs, State Patrol, etc.

What would I need to build one? All I need to do is get the right frequency to f*ck up their detector right?

What reading would they get? Any? Could I potentially "set" a reading? For instance, I commute 90 miles each day in a 55 mph zone. ..just set my reading to 55mph & bam! -Yeah, I'd have to be very careful entering town lol.

Thanks!

I believe radar jammers are illegal but laser jammers are not. Might want to check state laws though.

Answering a few of my own questions so I don't get responses like:

"It's a Federal Offense so don't do it."

In Minnesota, both radar jammers & laser jammers are illegal. MOST of the United States allows laser jammers to be legal. However, there are a select few of states that do not. Minnesota is included within the select few.

I am posting this question on here because it's a laser pointer forum:) Ha, I know someone has to have one!

Okay guys, Ha I don't wana turn this thread into sh*t, but "Googling" this is F*CKING WORTHLESS. Some people say they DONT WORK, some say they DO WORK. wtf? ha

We all know the "fuzz busters" are shit & even if Laser Jammers don't work, I am surprised that someone hasn't came up w/ an alternative. Yea, I'd keep quiet as well, but it's the web. There's bound to be some good schematics around. Hell, I can hack into the school & change my grades, but I can't alter a radar gun? I'm getting upset lol. There's a way around EVERYTHING, but not a radar gun?

Summing it up nicely ... Laser jammers are scams. I know several car nuts who have them and they don't work as advertised. Radar is another matter.

Maybe I should change the subject of this thread to "Radar?" Hm, better yet: Do Law Enforcement vehicles put out any other signals I could detect? ...lap tops cough cough. Not too many ppl in Minnesota have a "mobile web" so....?

^The only issue I could see w/ this is smart phones. However, I thought they didn't all put out the same signal?

So it's "impossible" to f*ck up a laser gun w/ using laser jammers. Instead of trying to f*ck it up directly, why not "alter" the reading? Shoot some type of signal in front of your vehicle w/ a mass larger than the vehicle you're driving & calibrate it so it's 5 or 10mph below your speed? One may have to keep re-setting this? Sure it's hypothetical, but man....

Here's a novel idea...

If you drive within the speed limit you won't need to spend the
$$$ on electronic equipment and lasers or speeding tickets...

BTW Ladar Jammers don't use Lasers... They are too directional.
Ladar jammers use LEDs as you would have found out if you did
a bit of Google research...:)

Jerry, you know I am going to view your response as irrelevant. I am 19 yrs old & a male.

I felt perfectly capable driving safely 65mph in that 55mph zone under the circumstances given.

But, all male 19 yr olds are wreckless drivers right ..& lack experience?

I'm not going to sit here & write a novel, but I have been auto-crossing w/ my subi for the past 4 yrs. -That includes ice drags, dirt, & tar.

There were no cars ahead of me & no cars behind me ...for miles. Clear day -mid day. No residential areas within a 30 mile radius. ...etc etc

Thanks for your last statement!

Please don't triple-post and stop swearing for no reason. You would look more intelligible and we would much rather answer your questions if you sound mature and intelligent rather than F this and F that.

And besides the point, I don't think it is appropriate to discuss stuff as illegal as this on this forum, especially if it deals with radar jammers.

Not all 19 yr olds are wreckless drivers but sure as hell that age group has the highest rates of fatal accidents due to speeding! If you don't care about your safety, that is fine, but you are risking everyone else's lives out there by breaking the speed limit so seriously as to seek a jammer.

I'm sure many of us here don't necessarily follow the speed limit all the time and go a bit above it. I myself usually drive 10 km/h above the speed limit which is natural traffic flow here in Ontario and never had a problem with the law here. But once you get a jammer, there's no telling how far you're going to push you and your car, especially being 19-years-old, you are unable to make proper rational judgements due to your undeveloped prefrontal cortex.

I'm pretty sure I've seen someone on here who tried using a laser jammer and was still busted... can't remember who it was though.

Rule of thumb to remember though, "If you can detect them, they can detect you and it's already too late."

Ahhh... there's the problem.....

You're welcome....

BTW.... triple posting when not necessary is considered bad
Forum etiquette and frowned upon by the Forum community...
