The "bible" you read isn't even "biblically sound". Do some research. Trace the history of how your text was created, filtered, censored, and re-written (more than once, by men) to satisfy the desires of the political powers in control at the time.

I have read it, and the atheist link, and the actual bible (in three different forms), and the Tibetan Book of the Dead, and the Santeria, and the Witch's Bible, and The Mabinogian, and the Koran, and the Torah, and several translations of scrolls found in the same area and at the same time as the "biblical" scrolls but not included in the later "bible." I have been involved with a critical analysis of Jesus' rhetoric presented in the gospels of the new testament as research for a well respected Catholic Layman to write a book. My parents were "domestic" missionaries in the Assembly of God Church. What have you read? How much of your own "bible" have you actually read?

Do you jump around and only read the parts that your are "studying" in a group led by some human? Have you started at the beginning and read it through? It is a great read. It could NEVER be made into a movie because of all of its violence, slavery, human rights violations, and illicit sex, but it is cool to read. What have you read for yourself, besides what has been fed to you by your leaders? I fail to see how or why a god would give me powers of critical thinking and reasoning and then tell me NOT to use them.

If you just WANT to believe because it makes you feel good to do so, have a great time. Just don't try to tell me it's something it's not

I am sorry ,all. Maybe wrong place/topic...whatever. I did not intend to spark debate or cause conflict.I was only trying to imagine some way to inject GEORGE"S comedy into our hobby.Maybe to honor him in my fairwell.Did you ALL miss that?But it really had Nothing to do with lasers,or build technique,or the Bible, or God or what ANY of us believe or don't believe. Probably shoulda just kept it to myself...sorry.Somebody please lock this. Doesn't seem to need more comment.
