Hey, SenKat, just to explain - I'm not saying there's anything wrong with your raffle or anything. If it were a clone or not, a 90mW filtered output is what it is and if its a clone or a real one it wouldn't matter at all - especially as you state it a clone.

What I want to get cleared up is why you call it a clone, as that's a pretty interesting claim and would affect anyone who's ever gotten a CNI black/gold from any place but CNI. Why I'm questioning you though is that I haven't seen a single shred of evidence that this isn't a real CNI. Admittedly I didn't read all the posts that carefully and may have overlooked something - but I'd like to know why you call it a clone. WL used to put their own stickers on them like <125mW and such despite what CNI would rate them as, and it was not uncommon to find these 125mW labeled lasers operating in the <100mW range.

If its the sticker alone we're going on, I'd still tend to believe you're dealing with a real CNI. No real reason to suspect a clone as we know both DL and WL - huge resellers of the CNI black/gold - have both mucked around with the stickers.

However I was wondering if there was an actual physical difference in the case or something that led you to say that. Perhaps you could disclose where the laser came from? Thanks!

That is interesting, I wonder how you do tell the difference?

Well, I state that it is a clone, because I have no proof that it IS a CNI. It looks exactly like one, to a T - even with a little serial number on the inside of the aperature lid. The sticker got mangled, so it is stickerless now - but it had <130 on it. Since I knew that CNI had no lasers that high, I called it a clone. It very well could be a CNI for real - but without proof that it is, I did not want to call it a CNI - see what I mean ? I hope that makes sense. I did not want to market a laser as one thing, and have it turn out to be another - unless it was for the better. And, for the record - you and I are good, man - If I had taken offense, I would have emailed you privately - you know me ! I always welcome your input - I was just trying to kepe the thread "clean"

Senkat, that makes perfect sense to me because if you said it was CNI and it ended up not being one whoever baught it or won it might be mad, but this way if someone ends up determining it is a real CNI if anything they'll be even happier!
