BOINC
The Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) is an open source middleware system for volunteer and grid computing.

It is designed to support the SETI@home project where it analyze extraterrestrial signals and search for signs of intelligence life ,solving conjectures yet unsolved in mathematics, modelling medicine, molecular biology, climatology, and astrophysics and MORE!

Now why should you care about some geek who spend all their day in a lab?
Because by every computation you donate your computer's power to , you might be helping to unravel the MYSTERY of the universe.

The intent of BOINC is to make it possible for researchers to tap into the enormous processing power of personal computers around the world.

Available for Windows 2000 and later, as well as for the MAC and Linux platforms it has an aggregate power larger than the most powerful supercomputer.

As of mid 2012 there are about 250,000 volunteers sharing nearly 500,000 computers with a total processing power greater than 7.6 petaFLOPS. This powerful resource is provided by the more than 2 million people past and present who have decided to allow BOINC projects to use the power of there CPU and GPU for their research and work.

You don't need special education to help.
All you have to do is donate your computer's computational power and you TOO can help make this world a better place.
Not just for the 7 billion of us , but for ALL LIFE on Earth.

You TOO can make a difference.

So what are you waiting for?
Humanity NEEDS YOU!

I have it set up for LHC on mine. Sure does use all 6 cores to 100% for a few hours for one experiment haha

I have mine set on SETI and ACT-R mind modeling.
Still waiting for SETI to come up with something other than being a MASSIVE money sink and a beacon for the alien invaders to find us

So that way , since SETI is CUDA compatible, it'll be on my GPU and the other tasks will be on my CPU :D
