hey anyone heard of http://www.blackle.com/ ?

Its pretty cool. Its the same thing as google, but because it is black, peoples screens arent as bright, so it saves energy. pretty cool ya?

Now im wondering if theres a way to set this as your browsers primary search engine. like i use safari, and in the top right corner, theres a google search. how do i set it to blackle?

anyway, i was thinking, LPF is pretty energy saving, (if youre using the black skin like me), right? lol im sure c0ldshadow thought of that before he installed the skin.

EDIT: the site also has a cool "watt hours saved" counter. pretty interesting!

Unfortunately, the energy saving figures are based around the assumption of a CRT display, where black implies the cathode ray is not scanning that particular spot.. With LCD displays, the fluorescent (or more recently, LED) backlight stays on regardless of what color the screen is displaying, so this would offer negligible energy savings.

There are a few "Black Google"s out there, my personal favorite being www.ninja.com (Tagline: Deadly Accurate)

Regardless of any real energy savings, it does look quite cool :)

Yea I was just going to post the same thing. Unfortunatly I use a LCD so kinda pointless. But I do like the look I think I will set this as my default.
