Hey guys,

So i'm after a laptop for gaming but i know nothing really about computers.

I play alot of age of empires 3 (FP1.2) on my mac but now i'm after a windows machine for the eso where the pros are. If possible i'd like something close to my mac the specs on the mac are, processor speed of 2.16GHz, processor name intel core 2 duo with a memory of 3GB.

If any of you guys could help that would be great!

Thx,
Ben

What's ESO a game?
Can you use something like vmware to run it?
My whole family runs OS X. I was thinking about installing windows on my mac again with vmware. I just need to get a copy of xp or 7.

Isnt Gaming Laptop an oxymoron? I need to have a decent size screen to do any real gaming and by the time youve get a bigger screen laptop you are falling off the edge of portablility then you have to have it plugged in and a mouse then the fact that cooling on laptops suck. IMO laptops should not be used for gaming but to each his own.

I agree. If you are serious about computer gaming. I would get a huge screen. If the screen I'm using now was on a laptop you would look really silly carying it.

If AOE III is the only game you seriously play than even the most basic of integrated laptop graphics chips can handle it, it's pretty old.

That aside it looks like you've already decided to get a desktop which is a better idea since you will get much more performance for your money.

The best option is to install windows on your MAC, but if you don't wanna touch anything then any laptop will work. Keep in mind that gaming laptops are well above 400, but as someone said, if you're not gonna play Crysis or things like that, any laptop will work.

Yeah aoe3 rocks, you on the mac? on gameranger?

Tbh i'd rather have my own computer anyway, so installing windows is not really a good option.

Check out the Dell Inspiron i3's. They can be had for about $600. And they have big beautiful 17" displays. They are faster than the mobile Core 2 Duo's.

Good luck!
