two of your mysteries solved....

The long slender one is an "exit sign" lamp, there are two in every illuminated EXIT sign.

The reflector lamp is an antique headlight bulb from a really old car.

That's a nice little start..... nothing to scoff at.

This thread needs more semiconductors :D

My main prime discrete through hole LED-collection (432 different pcs), a few are very rare and unusual. Vintage LEDs are hard to find. Visible range from 385nm to 700nm + pink, purple, white, warm-white, non-phosphor white and multi colour.

My main harvested LEDs from misc electronics:

Last one is a VCSEL.

I also have a bunch of harvested IR LEDs not shown.

Wow. A glorious collection of LEDs. I'm salivating. There was this guy who had a website a long time ago called LED MUSEUM, but I think it's now inactive. Shame though, he had a most extensive database on every led ever made.

I have a few vintage LEDs dating back from the late 70s (bought them at that time). They're not very bright mind you, but they must have a collectable value since they're unused. My best purchase was about 20 years ago, a place called Electronic Goldmine (Electronic Goldmine - Electronics, Circuits, Robots, LED, Solar, Kits & Surplus Electronic Parts) had mixed bags of 100 LEDs, I bought ten! :O

Oh man, now I have to photo my LEDs....

I love bizarre LEDs, whenever I see a strange shaped indicator on a copier or fax that I'm tearing down for scrap, I harvest them.

crazy bar graph displays are a fetish of mine too...

Canon is famous for proprietary LED indicators, second in line is Ricoh.

Minolta copiers have some off the chain LEDs on the front panels too.

that matrix looks so pretty all light up.

Once upon a time, when I had my commodore 64, I built a 16x16 matrix with TTL drivers, horizontal was 4 bits, vertical was 4 bits, connected to the 8 bit interface on the back, I could write those god awful
"if 10 is this poke that" programs to make them do nifty things.

her's a few more...

Some LED displays, the red ones that look like IC chips have hex decoders buit in, found them at Skycraft surplus when I lived in Orlando @ 3 for a buck.

12 volt LED lamp, I used it in Limon's cage before he died. He would wrap around it sometimes for hours.
