I got my first bali this summer, and I've gotten a few advanced moves down and loving it. It's just a cheap $30 SS knife, but I'm getting a Kimura V for myself very soon. Any other flippers or collectors on the forum? Post a video of how good you are or a collection photo if you can.

I don't personally own or flip any balisongs since they are illegal here, but you should check out the channel "cutlerylover" on youtube.. in case you haven't already.
He is a very nice guy and posts loads of videos about loads of stuff, but mainly knives. He has some balisong reviews, tutorials and show-off videos too.

Here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57V_EygAJgU

Brings back sweet memories from the eighties when my brother and me were
playing with these knifes. Then we got bored. We were 8~10 years old.....
Ahh the nostalgia!

Yeah they've been around for a while! C'mon Jaseth, don't tell me you don't own a single illegal laser. :D I've learned several tricks from CL, in case you didn't know there's a lot of youtube channels like that. I just discovered bitehandle yesterday, he describes more advanced tricks really well and is my favorite now.

I built my own one in the free-time just cause i collect non-standard knives, and i don't like too much commercial ones, so i decided to cross a "Japanese style" blade with a "butterfly" structure

Pics a bit blurried, sorry, and the knife is not "finished/polished", is just for give you an idea about what i mean as "non commercial" ones ;)

how did you do that now himnl9?

By hands :p .....

Seriously, i don't have machines, so i used metal scraps (and a lot of free time) ..... the blade is part of a hardened blade from a broken automatic saw (those machines used for cut in automatic from tubes and rods of steel, til 30cm dia) ..... it took 4 weeks just for made it, working 15 or 20 minutes each days, in the free time from lunch pauses (it's a damn hard bastard, to grind it out handy with a sandbelt :p) ..... the handle is made from discarded pieces of brass plates, i used two flat and one part sagomated and filed for keep the sides spaced as the blade thickness (2mm) for each handle, then riveted and soldered the parts together, then filed them with the needed shapes.

The holes for pass the pins in the blade was the worse part ..... i had to wait til i got a discarded widia drill bit, cause there's no way for make holes in hardened steel with common drill bits, but at the end i managed also them.

The "lines" on the handles are just pieces of 2mm brass wire soldered together ..... i had planned to polish and decorate it, but never had time to finish it, til now.

You seem to know balisongs! Do you have any? I'd love to have that one too, but even more so the 51. There are just so many SS ones out there, and they all seem to look the same. This one's beautiful. :D

I noticed that several of the gays that posted videos look somewhat unusual. Oops, did I say "gays"?
