This shipment has 10. It completes the GB except for those who really wanted black.

I wouldn't dare stick my hand at the intersection.. I had to avoid each individual beam or my dark clothes started smoking!

lol whilst you have all ten i recommend focusing all to 1ft and then arranging all the converge at that 1ft location and stick a cd case there now THAT would make a video.... USE GOGGLES would only take 20 mins...

if any are nonfocus just stick them in anyway

Hi guys, after a lot of effort the international packages went out today. Average shipping cost was $30! Also, the domestic shipping was more per unit than I expected, so the conclusion is that the shipping costs killed me! After the touble of dealing with the forms, extra charges, and special requests this might be the last international GB that I do.
I hope you enjoy them, the final 3 local shipments (not including the black ones) will go out tomorrow.

Hey Doc, put up a way for us to donate money if you like, it would be a way for us to help offset the cost increase you couldn't foresee. I'd be happy to throw in 5 bucks to help pay for the extra cost in shipping my unit to me.

And thank you god, it's finally shipped....time to stalk the mailman again.....

Lava, here is a video of the halo I messaged you about. It looks like I have gotten all of the crud off the front of the lens that I can get, yet the halo seems to be getting more defined over time. Could it possibly be something on a lens more deep into the unit, or on the diode? I took this video with my pda phone, so hopefully the site accepts .mp4 files..

Ok, it doesnt. :p Time to take some pics.

Ive noticed that on mine as well the beam spatter is horrid. I dont think the greatest care was used in manufacture. Or they used very cheap lenses

The lenses they used are actually decent coated glass, what may be causing this is an overrun of grease from the adjustable focus mechanism that spreads when the unit is warm? Some scatter is normal, but in your pic it's hard to tell how much there really is. Can you post a pic of the whole dot?

Mine is so bright, I had to reduce the power to study the beam. Even my goggles make it hard to observe.

I got my laser today. No extra cost or tax, just delivered by the mailman. Thank a lot drLava, ;)

WOW what a monster  .
DX30 is just a toy compared to this laser.

I measure the current and the Fluke tells me that the laser is drawing 1150mA from the Ultrafire 18650 battery.
It seems low compared the readings of drLava which is 1450mA.

Is it a battery problem ? My both Ultrafire 18650's gave me the same reading of 1150mA

I just received mine....

double u tee eff... this thing is nuts! Never in my life have I seen a laser like this one. It's so bright i'm having a hell of a time focusing it because I can't see the damn dot.

Anyone have any tips for focusing this beast?

Also Dr Lava thank for again for this wonderful new experiment, I could not be more pleased with the quality of the product. My hat is off to S-Ky lasers. I can see some room for improvement but it's all in the looks only, the feel and operation is just spot on for me.

Re: **** True >200mW 532nm S-KY PGL-200 handheld l

Blord,
Ya, with mine, I turn the focus all the way out for close up burning, you can see the beam is the thinnest at 6 to 12 inches, and will burn thru thin plastic cd cases in about 1 sec. turn the focus in all the way and then back it off about 2 full turns and for me this is infinity and im popping balloons here at 46ft.

Archane,
I also had a low mA reading similar to yours. I had to tighten several things on my laser to get it to 1.49A take out the deadman and make sure the little ring on the base cap is tight, you can use a spanner to tighten here or a wide screwdriver. also remove the barrel/heatsink and make sure the the backplate of the barrel part is tight, using a spanner, mine was loose by about a turn and a half. Also take the focus assembly off the barrel and make sure the front plate off the barrel on either side of the lens is spanned tight as well. Mine was readin low like yours till I tightened all these, also make sure you tighten the barrel well when screwing it back in. No glue was used on any of these areas so it should be easy to take apart. Warning, DO NOT TOUCH the brass ring in the back of the barrel, only tighten the spannable aluminum plate.
Good luck!
