Don't say that until you see the lasers! by the time we get them with the falling dollar and inflation, they'll be worth 30% more ;)

A note on the adjustable focus units: they did have to convince the factory to make an assembly line change for the adjustable focus units. Also, the inner adjustable part that is shown in the pics is greased for a smooth feel (another improvement over the sample test lasers), so be careful not to touch it while operating the laser.

The lasers whould cost me less now, canada FTW ;D.
I think amkdeath was just using the arm thing as an example when they use smileys.

i think the black were delayed by the silver->black anodising process (i/e they haven't built the process for the amount we want on time) anyway nice touch on the greased focus ring... when do you think it will get to me ( or does it goto drlava first?) even so how long till its at my doorstep or in customs wanting their 17.5% VAT of $400+ :( england sucks for taxes i did buy the better shipping though (with insurance me thinks so long i forgot)

i don't think there was a option for fast shipping... DRL said he'd ship em all out with USPS priority.

u live in UK? that must just plain suck!!! (17.5% :eek: :eek: )

I just finished chatting with them and they should arive at dr lava later today (10th), they also told me they only shipped 10 last week (i hope one is mine).

I think 3 months plus is a bit long to make 20 lasers, even given they had to re-tool for the focusable version. That is insane. With an ouput of only 10 lasers per three months, they sure won't break into the market very strongly.
Were is my laser! :mad:

Hi guys, I'm happy to announce that the first 10 lasers have arrived today, safe and sound. Of the lasers that arrived, all 6 of the gold ones, and 4 of the silver ones. They will be tested and sent out in the order that payment was received (seems the fairest way).

I opened and powered up the first one.. wow, it's nice. The thing has the weight and feel of a top quality laser. Internally, there have been some changes to the mounting of the driver board and improved anodisation stop mask on the battery cap threads (no corrosion). The focus adjustment works, and is greased for as smooth a feel as possible. The focusing adjustment wiggles a bit during focus, but once the lock ring is engaged, there is no movement at all, it is locked and centered. Also, the shutter ring is not as loose as it was in the test unit, it feels a lot more solid. I haven't gotten the chance to measure power yet, but will soon.

As a personal consolation for the delays, everyone will receive a free 3-minute runtime graph with their laser.

Thanks for the Update DrLava, personally I agree that the order in which it was paid is fair, and Thank you for the free graph, I can't wait to get mine.

I know i'd be curious as to the order of the payments, but I know you have your hands full with the testing and everything. I'm glad to hear the focus ring models turned out soo good, now i'm glad I spent the extra on mine.

DR. lava a few questions I assume the silver units are the ones that are going by payment because all the golds arrived.

1. will the people that origonaly ordered silver have dibbs over the people that changed from black?

2. sorry to ask but what is the order im sure everyone whould like to know.

No, they won't, since both are getting silver. Those (I was one of them) who chose to wait for black will continue to wait.
