Is the protection for these going to peak up into any other definitive colors (eg. green), or will it be primarily in the 405nm range for the florescence effect?

as far as i know they will be 405 range specifically but i can ask bridge to see what he says :)
:p
My main concern was not going blind when I'm lasing. Florescence was a bonus to me.

same here.

and from my little experience with these goggles and the ability to still see things fluorescing i am very happy with them.

i ca explain this picture a little better.

the first piece of paper did not fluoresce at all (with and without goggles on) but the second larger paper does.

as you can see in this picture i shine the laser at the top piece and let it fluoresce the bottom piece.

with the goggles over the camera lens you can see this very well.
and with a few other objects in my house that normally fluoresce i could see it fluorescing just fine with the goggles on.

Re: FOR SALE-405nm Goggle $35 (3 left)(Laser-Wave)

Got mine today. Looks pretty good... Although I do have some questions/discrepancies...

My 803T w/ flexdrive @ 90-100mA, unfocused shining on the wall with me looking through the goggles, the violet is still very visible. Is this normal? There also seems to be inconsistent coating of my right lens as it A) doesn't have the silvery reflection/finish that the left lens has, B) there's some sort of spot or a circle about 1cm in diameter that appears to have a little bit of the coating on it, but whenever it takes a direct hit, you can see an increase in power compared to other locations surrounding the spot. [I got some pics of the spot- I tried to wipe it off with the provided lens cloth figuring that it was a fingerprint, but was never able to get it clean. Maybe there's a cleaning solution I could use?]

Whenever I use my prescription oakley sunglasses as protection, there is much more violet eliminated, thus allowing more flourescence than the googles. Sunglasses + goggles was fun- there was no violet at all-everything was lighting up :p

I'll post pics of what I'm talking about later if I can.
Really appreciate you helpin' out the community with these goggles, Josh. They seem pretty nifty, but I think I'm going to have to wait for someone to get some power readings before committing my eyes to them.

please do post pictures up! just to clarify a few things what color is the coating on the lens? is it a blue color or a yellowish silver? it almost sounds like you got a set of broadband goggles somehow by mistake.
but i find this very hard as i checked each set of goggles before i put them in the envelope.

but like any OD4 goggles i have used you will still see the dot as thats where all the power is built up. but if you still see them beam at all something IS wrong.

i can snap some pictures tonight with my meter.

if these are truly damaged i will gladly swap them out for another pair.

thanks for the kind words and + rep montana!

Re: FOR SALE-405nm Goggle $35 (3 left)(Laser-Wave)

that mark on the goggles seem quite weird! it looks like a normal finger print and that should come off. maybe just try a little spit and then wipe with the included cloth.

as for the power variations its really really hard to tell without a meter or being in person. but as said before if you would like we can exchange out the goggles for you and i can verify with a meter that the ones you get are good.

Hey treb76...
you definitely have a problem with the right lens... from what I saw on your
video... a picture is worth a thousand words.... but a Video is worth a million... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I'll be checking mine a well when they arrive... I'll also do a LPM test on power reduction.. ;)

Re: FOR SALE-405nm Goggle $35 (3 left)(Laser-Wave)

Went to go upload it to youtube but they only take files <1mb... unacceptable. I can't find a way to compress the video from 7mb to 1mb without losing 3/4 the detail of the vid.
read it wrong. <1024mb. Let me see if I can get it on youtube.

Maybe try right-click>save target as or save link as and then download it. If you're missing the DivX codec, lemme know.

Here's divx .avi -- prolly needs divx
Here's a smaller .mpg -- needs quicktime

tried to throw it into a .wmv format too, but it went from 7.3mb to ~70kb.

If you all are having trouble with video codecs and such, I recommend either VLC or KMPlayer. They both have internal codecs that play just about everything under the sun. Much better than Windows Media Player!

Re: FOR SALE-405nm Goggle $35 (3 left)(Laser-Wave)

watched the youtube video.

that is extremely weird! i will be sending bridge an email about this shortly.

what is weird for me is that it shows the dot as green in certain spots of the goggles.

mine always show a dimmed down violet. '

i will be chcking this out more once i get home.
