If you don't mind, could you also get me an LPC? I won't be able to pay for a couple weeks, but I want to be able to get in on the deal....Can/will this be done again?

Ever heard of those 90 day periods where you don't have to pay? Some sites do them. If he doesn't trust me with waiting then that's fine he even mentioned that he can order something then wait until people have the money. And the handjob addition was completely irrelavant, but thanks for acting like a jackass torwards me, it's taking a lot to not give you - rep for that...:mad:

@Bloompyle

Don't worry, T_J was just joking around, it's what he does best. I'd take a gamble with $15 or so, but the value of an SF and an LPC is pushing the borders for what I'll do on faith with a relatively new member. I'll order whatever you need (within reason) using my own money, and then send it off whenever you can pay for it, however - this isn't a problem. So it's an SF-AW210 and an LPC for you?

@Everyone else:

I'm going to try and send the email within the next hour, so unless you're very quick indeed, I'm going to have to declare this GB closed to any further orders.

EDIT: Initial email sent. When I receive the response I'll work out the final prices and PM/post details.

I want an SF...but I also want to pay the extra $10 for Jayrob to solder the lead wires on his 3405 kit...I need those lead wires, that takes me down to $55...which leaves $15, and I can't get an SF with $15. However, how much better is an SF compared to a PHR? If there's isn't much difference then I'll just get a PHR.

Results with SF-AW210s have been a gamble in the past, to say the least. Personally, I had one run at 280mW (only 180mA IIRC) for at least 2-6 weeks medium usage (can't remember the details, I put it together in a little bit of a hurry) before LEDing, but others have had them produce less power (lower slope efficiency) and die much more quickly. Most people would rank one above a PHR but below a GGW, I think, though if you search around there's probably more information available than I know off the top of my head. The figure 170mA as max safe seems to be stuck in my head for some reason but I don't have a clue where I heard that.

If I were in your situation and felt like a bit of a gamble I'd go with the SF-AW210 and run it at around 170mA (check this!), but if you wanted to play it safe and have a potentially more reliable, lower-risk build, I'd go with the PHR at 125mA.

I *might* be able to do a rudimentary test for you at a given current and let you know the power output, but to get a decent reading I'd need to push it into an Aixiz module (I normally sell them for $4.50 with my PHR modules). It's hard to capture all of the light and get it onto the sensor's face otherwise. Plus, this test doesn't really suggest how likely it is to die, only how efficient it is at a given current, and perhaps may help you to make a better decision of reward vs risk. I don't know if you'd find that useful or not, but if it would help you then I'd try and do it.

In any case, you don't need to decide immediately, I'll be buying a few spares of both PHR, LPC and SF diodes.

I just realized where the issue was, I was able to purchase the SF, I was just asking if you could also get an LPC as well, and I'd pay in a week or so. But right now I'm trying to balance $120 with a lot of things that I'd LIKE to get, so far it goes like this:

~~THIS WEEK:
3405 Jayrob kit...............................$45
SF-AW210.....................................$25

Just take the LPC out of my order I guess, I wouldn't be able to pay it off for 2 weeks anyway, I already have this week's purchase in mind which takes the last $50 away...but that's ok. I'll be able to use that SF eventually, unless in fact it is useless compared to a PHR (since I believe it has the same power as a PHR pretty much) THEN I'll just get a PHR, which puts my already thought of purchases outa wack again...

EDIT: I made this whole post while Charlie made his, so I didn't see what he had said in the making of this post. ALSO:
In any case, you don't need to decide immediately, I'll be buying a few spares of both PHR, LPC and SF diodes.

PHEW!! That makes this an easier decision. I'll probably do PHR, but if you still have a spare SF in a couple weeks there's a good chance I'll be buying it off you (that is, if I have saved up $100 to get a jayrob kit, flexdrive, then diode). Thanks for clearing up so much :D

See above but basically, don't worry about it - I'll have what you need in stock, as and when you are ready to order it.

Charlie is not a web site, he is a decent guy trying to help his LPF brothers, and making a few coins in return. He is already doing you favors, and you keep asking for more. How much more you want? You sound like Wimpy. LMAO.

If you want to rep me, go for it. Look at my "About me" in my profile. Does it look like I care? :beer:

I know you don't care, and I know you joke arround, but it was still a dick move...and if you check my other post, you'd see that ONLY THE LPC WOULD BE 'HELD' I'd pay for the SF, then have him hold an LPC, not both. So you can stop now, thanks...

Quick update - I've got the price quote, will post details tomorrow (sorry for the delay, real life gets in the way sometimes) - prices are looking to be quite a bit lower than I predicted.

If people are wondering, the way I work out pricing is to first get cost price, add fees, shipping and packaging, and then add a final percentage, to cover loss/damages/replacements, any unexpected costs or fees, and if none of those happen, they cover the time and effort I put in to making the GB happen.
