:D amazing! So almost 30% increase at 14ft! This is much better than I had expected. Just think what a 6x beam expander would do for it!

we need someone that knows about beam expanders to figure out about how much it would cost to make beam expanders out of znsn lens then we would rockin

Re: GB LIVE & OPEN for Small RF 5-10W CO2 LASERS!

Yippie!
Got mine today! As disma asked earlier: Have anyone actually measured the current on the laser? The only PS I've got here now is 6A so I figuered if I connect this to the laser in parallell with 30000µF that I've got lying around I should be able to start out at 10% or so dutycycle and slowly climb, carefully watching the Amp-meter.
I guess I would wait until next week when I get my real (31,4V 9,7A) PS for this one but I want to finnish the PWM-module so that I can send them off.
As far as my knowledge goes there would be no possible way for this to damage the laser (not going over 6A current-draw) since it wouldn't notice any voltage/current-changes but I'm definitly no expert when it comes to analogue electronics so what do you HAMs think?

Regards
/Tottish

Re: GB LIVE & OPEN for Small RF 5-10W CO2 LASERS!

I received mine yesterday evening late . It appears to arrived in great shape -  thanks Chris !
I have not tried to power it up yet but I am looking forward to it . I have got to get a PWM and power supply built first.

Thanks
Gimp :)

Re: GB LIVE & OPEN for Small RF 5-10W CO2 LASERS!

two more you guys are gonna love these... Tottish Ive been using that Wallwort 3 volt 300ma it shows about 4volt on the meter for the pwm...and I used two 13.8 alpha gells for the rf supply, the laser kept lasing down to 26 volts off batteries and I played with it alot until I got my 30 volt 12 amp switcing power supply it all seems to work good, Mike and both noticed at lower voltage the rf supply seemed to warm up a little quicker... :D
