I just got an email from robin from die4lasers for their die4drive and want to start a group buy for them.
Die4Drive
They are analog and ttl modulated for use as just a normal driver or for scanners.
price break are as followed.
1-4 £22 GBP ea, 5-9 £20 GBP ea, 10-19 £18 GBP ea, 20+ £17GBP ea, 50+ £16 GBP ea. (+ shipping)
So i was wondering if anyone else would like to buy some of these amazing drivers?
note: from seller
"I can make one component substitution to allow it to run to 1.4A from a 6.5V to 7V supply.
The extra cost would be £0.50 per driver but MOQ 10 pieces."
What do you guys say is anyone interested? do you think its worth it to buy them in bulk lets hear ya.

No, it wont work in pointers or handhelds. The driver is wayyy too big, and usually requires a TTL or analog signal to activate. Unless of course, your build is in a project box :p

I have one of these drivers on the way, they are really nice :)

i have seen many drives and owned a few, but by far i think that the die4drive for what it can do is the best price but i am kinda a scanner guy.
pointers are fun for a few hours but a scanner is forever..
yes i am in love with my 12k glavos and looking to pic a set of 30k ups soon..

How about translating the GBP into USD and take into account the
GBP to USD Exchange rate changes...

I know how to translate it... but I would like you to give a fixed price
in USD that will not change for this GB....

BTW.... a lot of people don't know what they are or how big they are...
Maybe quoting some basic specs would help...

thanks jerry as i just got my response from robin and made this.
These prices come straight from here i can forward it to ya.
Altho my luck and peoples words seem to have not gone well.
like i said i dont care if i am not the one in charge but there around 33.4268usd normaly plus shipping
but if we buy in bulk we get them at 24.3104 usd plus shipping.
thats 9.1164 off the normal price.
Now depending on if your paying with paypal or have gbp there that pesky 3% fee added so about $0.70
so that puts them at around 25usd after paypal fees and then what ever the cost is to ship it to you so that would be around 2-3$ us and maybe 4-5$ international.
Btw i would love it if someone would like to organize this i am just here to bring the information and if i am the only one buying then i pick my few up and be on my way just thought we could keep the savings going.

If this was to become popular, I would be interested in 4 of these drivers

Kiyoukan,

I also got an email from Robin. I would interested in gettting at least three drivers for the 445nm lab bench models that I am planing on building. However since I will be using TECs for these guys to cool down the diode and the driver, I was hoping it they would have a higher rating than 1.4A.

Doing the GB would bring down the cost, count me in for 3 of Robin's drivers.

Thanks!

Not a bad idea, although they are two different suppliers, it is doable :D

Why would you want it to run from 6.5v - 7v @ a max of 1.4A?

It currently runs @ 5V with a max of 2A

I've already spent all of my money on other laser items. :(
Perhaps I'll get one in a few weeks if this item's still around.
Btw 6v is perfect because I have a rechargeable lead acid battery
with that voltage.

Yea but his specs said "6.5v - 7v" your 6v battery I don't think is going to stay at 6.5v & above.
