I did the same thing and flipped my pill over, it makes things much easier. Except mine currently has a duty cycle of 5 sec on 45 sec off cause I haven't received my heatsink yet :na: maybe it will be in the mail in an hour...

Hey guys. It might be quite stupid to ask, but since my most powerful ever build was 1.5 W of blue, can you make me a list with the best parts to turn my big boy into a 2.5+ blue? so far i've decided for a 9mm diode but i have no idea what driver/drivers to use and what battery combination. I really haven't researched at all since I have never been in the 2-3 W range...
like, a list of parts would save me time from searching.. thanks a lot in advance

Well with this build and If you want perfection I would PM Angelos and get the standard size Xboost in the 1.8 range. Then bin your 9mm diode to see where it is most efficient at then set it there. It might be happy at 1.8A it might be happy at 2.0A. Then you'll need DTRs barrel kit to mount the lens in. That should get you close to your mark.

Other than that you could use the battery tray mod here and Xdrive it like many have done in this thread already.

I would go higher than 1.8A.. at the very leist 2.2A 2.3. and I havent seen a Xboost yet but it sounds like I should get one.. Personally I am going to go for a x-drive 2.6A on mine and use the modded carrage.

2.6 A with 3x18650s in series, am I right? How high can these boost drivers go?

no buck driver... and love the night shots.. allmost looks like a 405 there!

Laserer told me 4A max I am looking at a 8A parallell build for a PT-54 red.

Some SUPER bright LED's at that. I've made a few flashlights and a mood lamp out of them, they're great. Hey has anyone in the US not received their heatsink yet or just me?

I really wanted a focusable one.. I havent found the right host for it yet.

Unless JayRob can make it focusable... His work is epic...

BTW I love when someone posts the PDF from Mouser, and then a buy link from DTR keeps me :crackup: every time. Who would ever buy one from Mouser, unless it's a blue or green..

I hate the MAGS.. I want something nicer better..

So am I right in saying if I GP something to a copper mount I can reflow solder another GP'd component to it?
