Saturday you sent your PM or Saturday you received Glenn's response? Or did both take place on Saturday? Abolfazl, I don't use MSN much but I guess I can log on for now just to talk to you. It's funny I was just looking on Skype to see if you were online but you're forwarding calls. Would it be alright if we talked over Skype?

qumefox, I do have your laser right now, so it will be in the mail right away, I don't use the home mailing type of labels, I print my own and get the cards w/ insurance and delivery confirmation from the PO, I hope you aren't too bothered pal, it will be there very soon I promise. -Glenn

What about my lasers? I had been hoping to get them in time for New Years, but that doesn't seem likely anymore, unless Glenn were to ship by FedEx or UPS or something like that. And that would be expensive.

I forgot to post this update earlier, but I contacted Glenn the other day and it turns out my package is safe and sound, and should be here soon. For everyone else that received their 589nm pens, how are they? I don't see anything new popping up in the Reviews and Multimedia sections

Don't worry though, I'll be sure to do mine some HD video justice ;)

Mine should have been here yesterday or today, seeing as Glenn lives a couple cities over, and he sent it Tuesday before the P.O. sends out their shipments. I really hope to have it by New Year's but I can't even get a tracking number out of him. Abolfazl, if Glenn is online on Gtalk, would you please do me a favor and ask him on my behalf? Thanks. Having it on time for Christmas wasn't too important, but for my New Year's plans it is.

He finally shipped mine yesterday and got me the tracking number.. Mine is supposed to be here tomorrow.

Cmak, just PM Glenn directly here.. it worked for me.

Hmm. Is it normal for these 589nm pens to be wildly unstable, even to the point of not lasing at all for up to 30 seconds.. until they get hot? After being on a minute to a minute and a half mine will finally settle down to about 2mw.

And yes i've tried different types of brand new CR2's. It acts about the same with any of them.

That's strange... probably something that'll go away as the laser gets "broken in".

By the way, what outputs are you getting in between the 30 seconds of no lasing and the "settling down to about 2mW"?

While I -have- seen the "breaking in" phenomenon, especially with 473; if the thing shuts off for 30 seconds, I'd say he has an RMA case with CNI.

Mine is unstable (like most yellows are), but it's not shutting off. I've got a lot of CNI lasers and this isn't the norm...

I think Qumefox has kind of had a hell of a run of aggrivation through this...

The only consolation is, that as frustrating as CNI is to deal with, they likely will make good on it.

Cmak, Glenn said "OK, but I got delayed, and then the PO was closed so it's still in my car"

So he will ship as soon as possible

Varies wildly, from 0 to 5mw. Doesn't matter though. I'm going to RMA it anyway. The switch has decided it wants to stay stuck down unless I pry the button back up with my fingernail. I'm sure it's probably an easy fix but no way am I taking apart a $270 laser that's still under warranty.

I know it's a double post, but I don't care. :D

I made use of the sticky switch this thing has. No smoke, but it was a looooong exposure.

I also recommend getting RCR2's for these... I got less than half an hour run time out of the first CR2.. so it'd cost a fortune to keep one of these pens fed using primaries.

Another shot. the pens that live on my desk.. plus the new yellow. Again. no smoke, just loooong exposure.
