My friend got yobresal's 1.2W and i want to beat him

Well then just man up and just get a 2W like Regina :p

EDIT: No, 473nm is DPSS technology, which means it has a much nicer, tighter beam than DDI (which is what 447nm is); and as DJNY also mentioned, most would say that the color is way more beautiful. I'd say get a 473nm...

Is the beam as thick as the 447nm?

473nm lasers have a much tighter beam. They are also much more visible when it comes to a comparison with the same power. This means, beside the great beam specs you need a way lower output to see the beam in combination with better safety.

The only con is, the price is a way higher than 447nm.

One problem with that is you won't get nearly as much power out of it as you would with 445nm.

It takes a 2.5W pump diode to get approximately 100 or so mW out. It's even less efficient than green- with 10% under optimal conditions.

So, if you want raw power, 445 is still the way to go. 473nm actually has an output vaguely resembling a beam, however. :p

However, I have heard from a birdie from a land far, far away that there will be 460nm diodes (of the same power as the current 445s) available, also in digital lighting displays. Who knows, it might be a rumour, or it might be more. And if what I've read is correct, they might even be singlemode.

Glenn, we're approaching the end of 2010 here... Can we please get an ETA, a ship date, something? At this point with this GB starting back in July, we've all been more than patient enough for an estimated ship date...

I still don't understand why he can't just post here himself. He's posted on other threads within the past week.

Why can't Gee Dubbleya' speak English?

Lol no but this is great news, and thanks for delivering it, Abolfazi.

There's more than one Chris M here you know. :D

Though if we're supposed to get our lasers before christmas, does that mean they're already on their way to glenn?

I doubt they would be on their way. I'll ask Glenn tomorrow (or today, its 4am)
