I just want to point out that in post 501 I pointed that out that the battery tube was non conductive.

Matt, you mentioned the diode pocket...Does this mean I need to extract my 9mm, now that it's already been pressed it?

I knew something was screwy when all the sanding I was doing on the barrel was looking worse...w/ 2000 grit!

I dont think so. Unless you are using thr case as a contact for something. Seing as how the 9mm only has an isolated negative and postive it shouldnt really matter. If im wrong someone say otherwise.

As soon as I hit send, the same thought came to me. I don't see an issue for this one...my 405...that might be a different story. It's a good thing I haven't received my 5.6mm press kit yet!

I'll be sanding tomorrow...

The sanding/buffing of the diode pocket is recommended for thermal conductivity. DTR says the heat is getting bottlenecks in the host.
First, it's not transferring to the head properly, and then the head is heating up but the barrel is staying cool.
So the sanding/buffing of these areas is recommended to encourage heat sinking.

damn damn damn damn!

I'll have a 9mm diode prob on teus. or wed., I'll machine you an extractor and mail it to you.
I still have some pieces of brass left which will do the job.

I hate playing on the lathe. Will probably be the worst 10 minutes of my day, but i'm gonna do it just for you.
Won't be anything special, just a threaded bar with a philips head that you screw in until the diode pops out. I just have to wait on my 9mm diode so I can use it to measure so i don't destroy the can on the diode.

I'm good guys. I have Jeff's extractor. It just makes me wary. But, I can handle it. Thank you Matt, for the very kind offer. +1 if it lets me!

shouldn't be a problem. I extracted the same diode about 20 times, and repressed it and it still worked fine.
