Hi Hak I still want the 600mw PL-C. However I may have to settle for the 500mw. Waiting for a reply from Gray. Apparently they have sold out of 600mw. He might be able to get me one built.

Hey Hak, just read your update post from the 30th (good to know). I know this is kinda' a double post, but any idea on the timeline for my 445nm? NO RUSH WHATSOEVER (will wait for quality happily Also...
Please put me down for a PL-C 405nm 800mW unit, as well as a Ti Pen 650nm 200mW unit. Trying to decide between the 3X and 5X beam expander, also whether I want to wait till the next GB for the expanders, so I guess my Q is, will the expanders most likely be included in the next GB?

Gray wants to sell the BEs so they willl be surely in the next GB. The reviews on sold ones help new sales. AFAIK the PL-Cs that had to be returned for adjustmant will be here soon. The problem was that his tech were thinking that the lens position would be the same for 445 and 405 as it is for the JETL 532s== guess that was not quite correct- Just to show him how it CAN and SHOULD be done ( & what we will be comparing them to) I sent him a DTR 445 and he must have had an 'AHA!' moment.

Her liked it so much I sold it to him(at a nice discount of course.)

I am going to PM you with some details, Andrew.

So, does that mean that the power and focusing problems with the 405 PL-Cs were resolved? I returned mine for a refund because the "focus" was completely unacceptable. Although it would focus nicely directly in front of the unit for a burner, the "dot" across the room wouldn't focus to anything smaller than a softball sized blob. I felt that the spacing between the lens and the diode was not correct, but it didn't seem to be field repairable. My correspondence from Gray indicated that those units were going to be fixed focus only and not adjustable focus. This was just not acceptable to me, hence the request for a refund instead of a replacement with a repaired unit.

And what about the power rating? Did any of the units in GB#3 get any closer to 800mw than 780mw or so?

Yes, the 405nm need(ed) to be readjusted and consulted the guy a bit here and so, you're right, adjusting the lens within the 405nm Rich returned is not that difficult in (the) field. You need (to)screw off/remove the lid/the front aperture lid first and as they are glued, so you need heat it up and unglue them with a blower or something. Then you will see the brass part upon the convex lens and we can screw/adjust the convex lens by seeing the state of focusi

The repaired 405nms now have a tight small spot in 6meters' or farther away. "

Well, the issue I have with this is that all that sort of thing SHOULD have been done before the item was offered for sale. I bought the device based on it's SPECS, and turns out the specs were not accurate. The device could not focus satisfactorily, nor was the power output what it was sold as. On top of that I had to buy batteries and a charger, since it was advertised as using a battery type I already had, and when it was delivered, such was not the case. ALL of thos specs could have, and SHOULD have, been determined prior to being offered for sale.

I was just disappointed that what I got was not what was advertised. It's not your fault, hak, and I'm certainly not blaming you at all. All you were doing is passing on the info as you understood it. So it is the SOURCE of that advertising copy that I have an issue with. I felt they could have handled this better PRIOR to selling the item.

When you say my refund is "on the way", what do you mean, exactly? I paid for this via PayPal. I assume the refund will be done in the same fashion.

All you say would be correct in a perfect world---sadly that is not reality.

Your refund is on the way- plz just let it go. I sent a USPS money order. I am buying th laser for myself- I see nothing wrong with it. Many wanted the 405s to be on the last GB- Gray was doing his best to make all happy-- but like most everything in life there will always be some who will not be happy.. oh well...

Now for the good news. A 20X Beam expander is in the works-- should be ready for GB#5. Also afaik a PL-C 18650 1064nm 800mW will be coming too. A new price list is being made and there will be some discounts on many lasers. I guess the price drop at WL and others is causeing JETL to lower prices.

Hope everyone is doing great.
Now the focusing part of 405nm and 445nm are repaired and working well, so just don't worry about the focusing issue though the output power for 405nm is 500mw and 1w for 445nm. The price of all PL-C lasers drops a bit and hope everyone can get the lasers at much better pricings.

Regarding the free extras, i would see if i can sort out some laser glasses, stands or diffraction gratings.

3X and 5X beam expanders don't look bad with the adapters for laser pointer pens and portable lasers though 10x version are yet to come at the moment. Jetlasers is thinking of working on 20x expanders and offer them at lower pricings soon.

If our PL-C 405s (like the one from the last group buy) are having focusing problems, is there a way we could order a new front cap from you that was positioned correctly, and replace it ourselves?

aryntha- I am in the process of getting a tut done on field repair for the focus of the 405 PL-C with great help from JORDAN(DTR).. I have one here now that is Okay but a better focus at distance would be worth the effort. Heat must be used to loosen the glue then the lens needs to be somehow moved fwd(IIRC) I am hoping that will not be too hard to do. Should be a good learning experience too. What ever we do it will not cost us any additional money.

473 0r 635 ..........mmmm... you know you need/want them both. I am going for the PL-C 635- just paid for one of the 87$ 473 10mW labbies fom Fee Bay.

whoops. Hmm. I think a few of us made plans around mid-may payday Hak.. (for budgetary reasons...) Any way we could extend that? I don't want to delay others though... Would Gray be able to do two orders?
